Preferably a treated wedge so that way it doesn't rot before the year out. That was a great jerry rig idea but not a complete fix. I do appreciate the idea though. Also I'm OCD so it's nothing personal

Quick fix but if the post are starting to lean it’s either dry rotted or was not set deep enough

Yes I have videos on those exact issues with fence posts but that’s not the case here. Here It’s because the soil has softened around the concrete footers over time. The concrete was properly poured on this fence and If it was rotted and snapped there’s no choice but to replace it. All depends on the terrain. My house just across the road sits on a cliff of bedrock and I have only a few inches of soil. My trees roots protrude above ground a lot and my fence posts have to be set in solid steel boot brackets anchored to the bedrock. Here on the lower side of the hill the ground has a lot of soft top soil and he has a lot of water that travels through creating erosion which softens the soil around his post footings as well.

@@michaelcatalanottohandyman man that’s a headache 🤦🏾‍♂️ I’m a fence contractor & soft dirt will definitely make the post start to lean in this case I would just use longer post probably 10 footers & use 2 bags of concrete per post but this is definitely a good quick fix for someone who doesn’t have the funds to repair right away

That did not work for me, the piece got pushed into the soft dirt by the fence force

@@AsensioPedro Yep, if the dirt is too soft, it won't hold your driven wedge(s) too long either.
