You guys! I am so in love with this art piece. The story behind this woven art piece is actually a funny one. I kept seeing this piece pop up in catalogs, on Instagram, and even on tv. Every time I would see it'd catch my eye and I'd fall in love all over again.
Long story short my sister sent me a video while she was at Crate & Barrel of this art piece. She showed me a video of the wall art up close and personal and I was able to see the detail and get an idea of what it looked like in person. I grabbed my purse and went hunting for supplies!
This project cost a total of $100-110 when all was said and done. It is quite a savings from the $300 price tag at Crate and Barrel but just a fair warning it is definitely a project that takes time and patience. Weaving is a lot like knitting or crocheting, it takes time.
This is a great piece to add a lot of texture and interest to a space. I love the natural and organic feel it brings. It sounds funny but I can stand and stare at all of the patterns and it makes for a really interesting piece of art.
It's a beautiful neutral color and can really add a statement to any decor style whether it may be a boho, modern, rustic. It can really fit into a lot of great styles!

Wow, you have the patience of a saint. I looked at the art piece from Crate & Barrel. I have to say I like yours so much better than the site one. Bravo to you!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

very beautiful. Unfortunately most DIYers' projects look DIYed and I don't bother to save them. I will definitely try this one. My only suggestion is to invest in an electric staple gun. They are not that expensive and such a time saver plus easier on the hands! I'm never without mine. Thanks for the great idea!

Hi Debra! I appreciate the compliments! And thanks for the tip on an electric staple gun... I think I'm due to buy one after this project 😂

Totally admire your tenacity and courage to attempt. You achieved a monumental SCORE. Well done you! And thanks for inserting your husband was NOT INTO IT AT ALL just when the thought crossed my mind of how much grief mine would have given me. 😂 Was there a point when you realized you really had it, and could see the light? The moment when you began to tighten? I REALLY want to do this for a headboard. But I am racking my brain trying to think of a medium that isn't as tedious and I can't. You just can't get to that WOW point with out the "string". 😘 Thanks!

Thank you! The top line I was still figuring out how to weave everything through by the second line I had a better idea and by the third I was breezing through and incorporating really random neat weaving. It's a little tedious but the after is so good! I love how it turned out and love to see such a beautiful piece in my office every day!

It looks amazing & you put a lot of work in to it. That said, I think I would just buy one. I’d be overwhelmed with just one strand of string let alone how much you did. LOL!!! Keep up the good work.

I have a ton of sisal cord that would be perfect for this! It’s a bit thicker than your string, but that might be a good thing. 😉 Turned out beautifully!

Stunning - just had a thought to cut out the white canvas backing so you can see through it a little. But overall, exceptional design, beautiful! Thank you for sharing
