Feels like forever since I last posted a video. I enjoyed making this lamp it was a fun build. You can also watch this in video Spanish ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qi2-aAm7dBo.html
DIY Creators I love your RU-vid videos! But this one here...your mic 🎤 upgrade, and that camera 🎥. You definitely look 👀 and sound like a radio announcer. Very PRO!!! Love it. And the lamp tutorial simply phenomenal. I am so doing it.
Glenn your videos are a treat to me. As a 17 year old who is into woodworking projects like this, you have taught me stuff I would have never known. Keep up the awesome videos!
"Not a big deal, just switched up how I was going to do things" Loved hearing this in your video. Having a "can-do" attitude and remaining positive while constructing projects plays a huge role. Well done good sir! You got my sub.
Brutally honest in admitting things you did wrong, you got a subscriber. So refreshing to see. I'm going to try this one myself. No cardboard box though.
Lol. This is the first video of yours that my husband has seen and all he said was "He's a f***ing genius! He's thinking ahead and he knows what people are going to struggle with!" And now he's subscribed. You are the first DIYer that he feels makes sense.
This video was posted 2 years ago but you were in the future! I can’t wait to try this project out for myself! Thank you! Also AMAZING how you also translated it in Spanish! Now my dad & I can do this project together.
Thanks Glenn you helped. Me with my design and got me passed my design stage by showing me all the steps and your thought process. I was thinking of a 5.foot light and now I want to add a second light on the Back maybe RGBWW for some added fun
I really like your videos because you don't use a $4,500.00 CNC, $3,000.00 table saw, or other highly specialized/extremely expensive tools the normal guy just doesn't have. You're a regular guy making cool projects with tools the everyday guy would more than likely have. Thumbs up!
Aside from your cool projects, your video production comes across professional and the background music level is perfect so it does not distract from your voice over. Very well done.
Thanks for the video, man! One thing I don't understand, is why so many people are not comfortable with soldering something? I mean - what the hell - it's easier than most woodworking tasks, requires only super-cheap tools (decent soldering iron can together with solder wire be bought for less than 10$ in nearest Home Depot, or whatever alternative you have there in USA/Canada), and you can learn basic wire soldering in 10 minutes from youtube tutorial. That's easy and reliable - every decent man should be able to at least solder two wires together without any trouble!
Thanks, I understand, I'm with ya. I happen to like soldering, but many are intimated by it so I like to find a solution to give viewers confidence. I would assume those who know how to solder would go for it.
Only just found your channel Glenn and it's at the right time as I move into my new home in a month and I will trying to remake some of your beautiful work.
You know what !!!! I happen to have led strip in my drawer sitting there for years not knowing what to do with it , now you gave me a great and simple idea , thanks a lot Glen ;-))
Love this one :D Btw Glenn, if you haven't been told (I don't think I've seen you do it in a video before) using isopropyl alcohol on hotglue makes the chemical bond literally let go. Smear a few drops on it and the hotglue can be peeled off of any surface it's on. It's been a lifesaver for me on so many things. Also means you can use it for almost anything, since you can remove it with ease and without residue after.
I know this is an older video, But I've recently discovered your channel and I must say I don't know how I haven't stumbled it before!! I am loving your ideas and very informative instructions! Keep up the awesome videos!
Oh man,, I wanted to make something almost exactly the same as this was the second video I saw - thanks so much!! I was also thinking a light on the other side would be nice... Then you said it!
That's not a lamp, that's a blunt object for home defense! :) Seriously, fantastic work, as always! I'm a big fan of constructing a dado from pieces, just as a way of thinking outside the box. Here, it makes the project accessible for those without a table saw or router to make the dado, just glue up the pieces.
LOVE THIS! Easy to follow instructional video, fun to watch and beautiful lamp design! Also cool to see how you came up w/quick, smart solutions when things didn't go quite as planned. GOODSTUFF!
That is so nice, I love watching your videos. You make everything seem so simple. I'd like to see you build your daughter a dollhouse one she can play inside of.
I love your channel. I'm moving in my first flat finally and it's unfurnished. I'm totally going to follow your videos! DIY is awesome and your design is so pleasant to the eye.
I'm happy for you that you're doing well enough to get a sponsorship like Audible. But if I may offer some constructive criticism, maybe split up the ad read so it's not all at the start of the video. Something like "...and stay tuned after the video for more details" rather than doing it all up front. That way those of us who already have Audible accounts don't have to sit through 10% of the video length for that ad read.
Thank you, Ad placement is rather tough. I understand where you are coming from. I haven't found then happy medium just yet. I don't like interrupting the video. I do value the way you are receiving it so I'm looking forward to trying new ways.
Actually like this. I have a pretty modern and large theater room and i am trying to work out some innovative lighting in. This might be it. I would set this up with a front and back light strip, but I would set each up independently so i can do indirect lighting. I think i might look at incorporating some kind of led controler in ( arduino ect with neopixel type leds). Great maker stuff!!! Keep em coming!!
I think you make to many concrete/wood lamps.... I can't choose which one to make. I just keep going from video to video!! But I think this might be a winner
hello thank you for this great idea I have a small tip you can use a cube of polystyrene instead of the box of juice it's easier to remove my greetings
If you use like a styrofoam block at the bottom instead of the juice box, you avoid filling up the bottom. Don't forget to fix it to the bottom which avoids floating up. This block you can easily cut and break out afterwards. In addition you can see that the vertical edges of the concrete block are darker than the flat surfaces. This means that the water of the cement slurry was leaking out a bit in the corners and took small concrete particles with them. Just an optical You can avoid this with sealing the corners better
Good job. I'd suggest for future projects add acouple knockouts to your form casing to avoid having to drill or use hot glue to hold something in place. Use some pvc or pipe conduit for the wires and glue a small styrofoam block on the bottom so when you take off the bottom you have a nice, clean recess for a cover plate to the wires. It'll save you time in the long run and make it look professional. It's all in the details.
Glenn please! I can't follow you with so many awesome projects lol. Again, you've outdone yourself with a simple but great project. Keep up the good work!
