This is bad ass! This was an idea a few of us were throwing around few months back, and I can't believe you did it! We also discussed stopping the charge, which sounds like the second part, of your project, and sending an sms to your phone if a temp is reached. GREAT job!

What happens if you want to use it remotely and not near your router? Can you just have the information output to an LCD or to your phone, but directly (not through a router)?

hi. sorry if this is a noob question. is it possible to transfer the temperature data through usb cable? if i'm not using the wifi, is there any similar device like esp8266 that i can use?

Just updated to Arduino 1.8.9 and had to select a board again. Went to the Boards Manager and ESP8266 Community and noticed the original one Drone Mesh listed isn't there anymore. I tried WeMos D1 R1, and LOLIN (WEMOS) D1 R2 & mini. I can't get it to compile. The error message is: Board d1_mini (platform esp8266, package esp8266) is unknown Error compiling for board LOLIN(WEMOS) D1 R2 & mini. Is there something simple I forgot to do? Thanks;)

UPDATE: I found some 150K ohm resisters...apparently, i didn't buy a good enough set the first time! :/ ...do you have a link to the next part with the relay? (I'll also look through your channel now, but it might be helpful for others, so asking here) Also, do you have any recommendations on how to install this in a hot environment? (for example, inside a motor that will get close to 95C / 200F)

Hello, im looking for a 30A ESC, do you think ESC's influence smoothness on miniquad? Which ESC should i take? I've looked a lot of you ESC reviews, in some you are positive but you say: good, FOR THE PRICE. I dont like to spend a lot of money to it but if i want smooth footage, should i get expensive ESC's or is a HAKRC 32bit ESC good enough? thnx!

I love this. This definitely gives me a place to start on a project I'm thinking about. Do you have a resource for making several of these (at least 7 or 8) with all of them reporting to either an Arduino or PI server, maybe with email or sms alerting or triggering of relays based on temps? I'd also like to hardwire some of them into 12v and some into batteries. I think Wemos has a power modules that can handle 12v and others for batteries.

Oh, and one other thing I noticed, when activating the serial monitor I had to change the baud rate to 115200 or I just got jibberish.

For those interested I added the line: Temp = (Temp * 9.0)/5.0 + 32.0; // Celsius to Fahrenheit right above above the "return Temp;" line at the bottom.

Cool project! My EE knowledge is limited, and I don't understand the 'science' behind using the resistor to compensate for the difference in voltage when reading the sensor. Could you explain in your followup video, or are there any resources I can check out?

Check for voltage divider, that's what he is using here. Basically the point where both the 150 kOhms resistor and the thermistor are connected will have a voltage between 3,3V and 0V(because that is supplied at there other ends). The exact value will depend on the ratio between the resistors and because the thermistor has a resistance that varies with the temperature, the voltage at the point between the two resistor will vary with temperature as well and so this voltage can be measured and used by the microprocessor to indirectly determine the temperature.
