Today I am sharing one of my absolute favourite knots/patterns, it looks just like the Cable Knit stitch in knitting! This pattern can be used in a variety of ways, such as market bags, purses, wallhangings, plant hangers, jewelry and much more!
For the purpose of demonstrating this pattern, I have used a 5mm, 3 ply rope cut to 8feet/234cm, in the colour Laurel.

No unfortunately I don’t have a pattern , reason being there is no avoiding a lot of cord wastage with this pattern at the end. when making a bag like I did in this thumbnail picture. People get VERY angry if they feel a pattern has wasted cord… so I won’t go there. I’ve Learned my lesson lol

Hi, great tutorial 😊 thanks for sharing. I have some 2mm cord that has 7 different colours. So what I wanted to do is a little walking purse that could hold a cell phone case. But I want to do it dark colour to light colour. I love the look of the cable stitch, but not sure if it is do-able. Thanks in advance.

Yes I have! I was originally going to make a video on the bag but using this knot , the cords zig zag a lot and there is A LOT of cord wastage that just can’t be avoided so I decided to just teach the knot instead, people get angry for cord wasters on here lol

Thank you so much! I love this knot! When making the bag how are the sides connected? Do the knots complete themselves at the sides? Or is there a different knot attaching the sides? I can see theres square knots for the bottom. X
