Ok ,I saw that you had four cords but when you flipped the end with the gathering knot you had six cords. Where did the extra two cords that you were making the square knots come from?

Thanks so much for your clear and efficient instructions. We've made both the macrame dog collar and lead for our little Border Collies 'Glory' and 'Cacao'. It was so easy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. Have a beautiful day Courtney. Love Sam and Jess (8THIRSTY)

@@zuzu4578 It's going great! I made one with standard twisted cotton and then with the more durable braided cotton, would definitely recommend the braided, it's only marginally more expensive.

@@zuzu4578 I used good quality braided cord and so it still working, just a bit faded/dirty of course haha

Question - at about 7:30 you took that other half of the buckle off, yes?

Hi Tammy, the two ends of the buckle for the collar stay unclipped/seperate for the duration of the project. Let me know if you need any further assistance!

beatiful Collar. I want to make a wider collar, maybe 5 or 6 cm. Is there a way to do that?
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
Yes you could definitely make the collar wider, you would just have to by a wider sized clip and then add additional 'filler' cords to the inside of the square knots to make the square knot thicker. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Question - at about 11:00 you put the buckle half back on?
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
no, the two ends of the collar buckle stay apart until the collar is finished.

Can you use 3mm braided cord as well? Would this impact the size buckle & length cord you need?
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
Yes you could use 3mm cord and it wouldn’t effect it too much, although I haven’t tried it before! I imagine the buckle would need to be slightly smaller.

Where do the 2 extra cords come into it? To make 6?
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
You only need 4 cords for the project - 2 cords cut to the length calculated at the start (custom to the size of your pet) and 2 cords at 50cm each to create the wrap knots at either end. I hope this helps and good luck with your project!
@victoriarath9658
@victoriarath9658 Год назад
I agree with you, out of nowhere 2 extra cords appeared? Confusing !
@KnotCalm
@KnotCalm Год назад
@@victoriarath9658 When you first attach your 2 long cords to create the collar, you first have to fold them as instructed and larks head them to the buckle, and then this created 4 working cords attached to the collar. Then, you feed all four cords through the other buckle piece. Once you have secured them in place with a wrap knot, you will end up with a total of 6 working cords. These are all created with the 2 cords cut at the beginning as instructed. If you try to make the collar and follow along step by step you will find it explains why there are 6 working cords. Hopefully this helps.
