SUPPLIES YOU'LL NEED //
▶︎ 5mm single strand macrame string in the following lengths:
6 pieces @ 120" long
▶︎ 2" wooden ring
▶︎ 1" large hole wooden bead
▶︎ sharp scissors
▶︎ pet brush or comb
▶︎ stiffening spray or hairspray (optional)
▶︎ a hat to display!

Awesome, this was a great video to watch to remind me of a few knots as hadn't done macrame for a while and had forgot the simplest one the slip knot....will make this for a client now and this pattern could easily be made into a double hat hanger.

I tried this but couldn't finish it off as there was a strand on each side that was way too short. The test were all still long and the same length

How can I make one that holds more than one hat? How do I know how much cord I will need for a project? Is there a math equation for figuring this out?

Hi, I’m sorry first macrame project and I’m a little cinfused, can someone please help? In the beginning when she says to make 4 or 5 1/2 inch knots to the left using the filler string, she is making several more knots or loops but not enough to be exactly double… to me it seems she is making for that what she is stating. Maybe it takes two loops to make one knot? Thank you in advance.

I used 6mm and did the same length. 3 of my cord were really short by then end. So maybe add a little extra?

If you triple the length of the cords and then repeat the holder part two more times under the first one, it should work. In other words, diamond shape and then two groups to hold hat, then another diamond, another two groups, another diamond, two groups, then finish with a diamond. I feel like I'm not explaining this very well, but it would resemble this: =========

Duuuude, I know what you mean. For some reason the half double hitch knot was not clicking in my brain even though she explains it clearly. Took looking at some other videos to help lol. But once you get it, it's pretty smooth sailing. Happy with the result.
