This video has changed my life. I walked into my bathroom this morning after purchasing and configuring the "magic wand" and felt like I was in the suite of a five star hotel. For the first time in years, the glass and shower, tormented with hard water minerals, sparkled and shined. Thank you for sharing this sorcery with us all!
I warm up the vinegar in the microwave for 30 seconds and then add it to the Dawn in the spray bottle. I let it sit on tub 1 and walls for about an hour or longer. Hardly no scrubbing involved. Squeaky clean.
Vinegar will break down water based sealant on tile and grout, as a tile professional I recommend testing your tile, grout to make sure it's still repelling water and not absorbing it because over time grout without sealant will lose its integrity, begin to crack, and when that happens water damage to walls behind, tile falling, and huge repair cost. So make sure your sealant is still present.
@@johnbannister501 me, too! My Mom learned the car wax hack back in the early 70s. I also started using a shower water filter. Besides never having to clean hard water marks, the benefits to your health is incredible. Silky hair, better skin, and no more chlorine, etc from the water being absorbed by your body. For around $30-40 you get amazing results you never have to think about. 🙂
Thank you very much for showing this! Before you showed you ur shower, I was thinking, " Please don't show me a shower that's already half-way cleaned. I want to see a shower that looks like how mine gets at times😀!"
Same here! I was about to to go buy a pressure washer to try that because I have tried every spray on the market and it gets light but not gone. I shall try this on Saturday! Lol
Thank you for being so transparent. We sometimes allow housework to get ahead of us and become overwhelmed and not want to do it but this was a quick and easy way to take care of something and thank you again.
So the pinkish film is a form of mildew. Wanna prevent it? Leave the shower door open so the humidity can escape after your shower. Let it air dry, no more pink stuff.
Valerie Foster pinkish film is from chemicals in the water. I clean houses for a living and the pink film never use to be there till recent years. as for what actually works, well if you just spray ur shower down with 1/2 water- 1/2 vinegar but only after you squeegee it first ;well that works too. vinegar straight will eventually ruin the metal.
Kimberly Rosa Why diluted the bleach? I use it straight on anything mold or mildewy. I also spray it in my shower when I get out. It mixes with the water and my shower is shiny and new looking always.
I'm so sick of seeing "Clean With Me" videos where their house already looks spotless 🙄🙄🙄. THANKYOU for being honest and showing this, this is how my shower gets too!!!!!!!! You rock and you have yourself a new subscriber!
+oh my goodness- I'm so glad this was a nice comment. Hahaha! All I saw pop up on my phone was "I'm so sick of seeing "clean with me" videos" where.... and that's as much as it said. LOL! I was like- aaaaahhhhh- someone hates me video. LOL! But then I read the whole thing. Thank you for your encouragement! Really, I appreciate it a lot!! speckledwings
Katie Sottile I'm so sorry about that!!!!! I hate that I may have made your ur heart sink for a second there. Keep up the great work and transparency, it's so genuine and relatable❤️. Much love!!!!!!😘
Omg girl !!! Thanks for showing the grime in the shower !! I have that too and can't get rid of it , no matter what I use !!! But you bet I'm gonna try everything you used !!! So nice & clean now !!!
Mommy Garcia if that doesn't work try using the unscented easy off and a magic eraser I had to get rid of that in an apt we were moving into and nothingggg ever got it off including dish soap , bleach or baking soda .. etc. leave for a few hrs
it's nice to know I'm not the only one that cleans my shower when I'm in it definitely will have to try the vinegar and dish soap but looks like a lot of work when you can just use a magic eraser from the dollar store but pretty cool way to clean the shower
Also quick tip if you have hard stains on the floor, spinkle baking soda and throw old rags on top and take boiling water and pour on top of the rags slowly so you don't move them. Wait like 30 mins and the hard stains will wipe away.
I'm glad the shower was as bad as it was because it looks like it word plus it looks super clean at the end. hate it when you can't tell the difference between before and after. 👌👌👌👍 great job!!!
Just started following. Was so excited to try this because all bathrooms don’t have windows that open and the smell of cleaning products is overwhelming. LOVE the results!
DT also sells replacement heads for the scrubber. What makes this all work is the vinegar takes care of the mineral deposits form hard water, and the soap cleans oils and "stuff". I think using a good laundry detergent would also work.
Hi Katie, I 'm greatful that you kept it real about the shower. My boys' bathroom look just like that at times, thanks to you now I know an easier and inexpensive alternative to resolve that issue.
Love it! I've been using a watered down version of this solution. with half water, half vinegar, and a few drops of Dawn. It works great for daily kitchen and countertops, but it's terrible in the shower. I never thought to use it full strength. Gotta try it! TFS ❤️
It’s Life!! Don’t worry you are DEFINITELY not the only ONE who has shower looking like that mine is very similar! I’m glad you shared can’t wait to try!!😃 thanks for sharing👍🏼👍🏼😃😃
i JUST FINISHED FOLLOWING THIS METHOD-- THANK YOU-- it is heaven-- i hate to clean- and this worked a charm!!!!! i ahve family and babies coming for xmas and Now I am not ashamed!
I know this video is from a year ago, but I just started watching you on RU-vid and found this today! Thank goodness! I've used everything I can think of and the grime is still there. Can't wait to give this a try!! Thank you for posting it! Love your videos!
Yay! I'm not the only one that cleans my shower while I'm in my shower !! The one thing I hate most is staying in and cleaning ( obsessively) until I run out of hot water and I'm left standing in the cold still needing to do the final rinse....... Ummmm of me ,,,,,not the shower ha!!
I like you!! You showed the before, actually applying the mixture, doing the scrubbing and the after! Thanks so much!! P.S. I hate those tips that people give but never actually show it works!! Thanksssss
New subbie from Keep Calm and Clean. I'm running to dollar tree now to get my supplies. Can't wait to clean my bathrooms. Thank you for sharing this hack.
I did this and it worked really well. It was your 'before' shot that made me do it. I thought if it works that well I have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
@@sisplease9053 I know. I agreed. Baking soda is one of the three ingredients that you really need to clean anything in your house. Especially when paired with vinegar to work on the same mess.
Omg!!! My bath tub was like this for almost 3 years, tried everything finally thought of giving this a try and it worked👏👏👏 need to do it one more time and it would sparkling clean.. I used regular dish soap
I've been doing this for a while and love it. I started using the scrubbers when my son started cleaning his own shower. I thought that it would be easier for him, but hadn't thought to use it in my own shower! LOL
I stumbled on your channel. I hadn't bought one if those soap sponge dish things in a long time . Mine always leak. I have 5 bathrooms😱 and freaky clean children . I bought a one power scrubber. But man they are going to love your hack with each bathroom and a soap + vinegar wand!!! Yay !! Glass showers are my nightmare.. thank you for sharing !!!
WOW! 5 bathrooms?!?!?! That's a lot of bathrooms to clean ;)! I think this will be a great solution for you. And I like the word you used for it- wand! Where was that when I was filming this? hahaha! I couldn't think of a good word for it. LOL!
Katie Sottile my kids 8 year old loves hacks and organizing videos he found you! Yeah 5 bathrooms! Everything is bigger in Texas! My husband is in the medicine field and is so clean so I'm guessing they got it from him! We are a family of 4. Im sure your channel will come in handy. We travel a lot and we are very busy so hacks are always welcome. And less chemicals the better. Yeah wand, so I thought laugh out loud. Thanks for answering.
Katie Sottile 5 bathrooms but the boys clean their own , hubby helps and I do too. And I usually brush teeth and straighten up at night. They help clean other bathrooms for privilege points... but they aren't used as often . Main thing dang glass! But I did buy the rain x from the car section and it worked on the shower as long as we use the squeegee .
I find that softscrub and a deck brush work really well. And it helps to actually get into the shower to clean it. That way you can see and reach everything. For the pink mold I would use softscrub and a toothbrush and you can us it on your shower track as well . You can also use a scratchie on your door with some soft scrub, rinse and dry it and if it is beveled glass add some lemon oil to it to keep the hard water, soap scum down!
I have found that for me it just works even better on really tough spots like the corner of the shower or the door on the shower and for spots that aren't that bad it makes it come off even faster.
I have a scrubber hanging in my shower with both ingredients and I wipe the walls down while my conditioner is sitting in my hair. It's genius and it works!
WOWWWWW!!!!!!! How did you find this out? I have very hard water and vinegar works on the toilet pretty well but this looks so much better and it is so easy and cheap. You are my hero. Thank you, soo much!
I clean mine while in the shower, mainly waiting for the conditioner in my hair 😆 I need to pick up those scrubbers. Thanks for sharing will be trying this, we have a similar shower.
I will definitely be trying this, thank you. This may already be in the 1131 comments below, I didn't read them all but the best way I've found to clean the shower caddy/rack thing is just toss it in the dishwasher. It comes out looking new every time.
I do the same except I sprinkle baking soda on after the spray and then let it sit. When you sprinkle the baking soda it will fizz and make a nice foam.
