I want to see a welded nut instead of the handle so I can use a power ratchet/screwgun to retrieve it 😎

Thanks. It will all depend on the size of your pulley you use. I didnt use any draft/drawing just measured stuff up and made it fit. Maybe ill revisit this video and make a better one.

making one out of a 2 piece rod with a level wind reel is much quicker, easier, and cheaper.

It shouldnt be a problem using a pulley with a seam, use some black tape to cover the seam, its not the easiest finding deck pulleys, this is DIY right , espically apalachian DIY. Them boys use everything possible..

boone dalton haha yea a seamless pulley is ideal. Good tip with the electrical tape!

What size pulley are you using? how much line will fit on it?

It's about a 6-7 inch pulley, bigger is faster. I have 200' on it right now and it could easily take 400' more

Easier, yes...cheaper, no. Plus this can be made from wood for light applications. This is just a prototype and improvements can be made. Its the fun of the build also. Thanks for you comment

Correct... that's why most people buy produce as well, because it's easier than growing vegetables.

Rosa Serna the plate metal was free but you could get some for $10. The pulley was from an old lawnmower at a junk yard $5. The pipe was from home depot $7. The hand crank was off a snowblower from the same junk yard $3. Your looking at $25-$35 dollars maybe cheaper if you can get some materials for free.
