well it's a lathe ru-vid.comUgkxN9zrzkkhnjUF5PQbuA_B1gYdsfCu9k6z but it wasn't what i would have anticipated. Headstock, tailstock, carriage apron are manufactured from aluminum now not cast iron. The spindle diameter for the bearings is too small allowing for a few play in the spindle so I am using some blue Loctite to take out the play.
While I COULD be a douche canoe, and call you out about how you've warped the metal here, or you should've done "xyz" there... Man, you've clearly thought it out, came up with a unique design that works, and you built the damn thing!! Serious props, bro! That's a piece worthy of praise, and I give it freely...for whatever the praise of some online rando is worth. Plus, that big ass, ratcheted thread cutter is fricken off the hook!! I want one, bigly!
If I am not mistaken your chuck is still wobbling and the parts you will make will not be true. There is no way you can weld a chuck backing plate with 2 magnets and hope that it will be perfect.
Interesting but those headstock bearings sound shot to pieces, I wonder what the heat from the welding does to the bearings AND you might get cleaner welds if you clean the metal first?
Nice ! Didn’t see a tailstock ? Can’t argue with the facts , except the color ! Lmao. I’ve never been a fan of yellow ! Lol. Did you work out your scales on your cross feed and compound ?
@@woodtowonder7868 Thank You very much. But, here locally, they told me that einhell 1500W it's only for wood, is that true? or all depends on the cut disk. Thanks again
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, you built a lathe. Extra points for using pipe threads on the spindle of a machine tool. On the other hand, the bearings are open to the air, the ways are mild steel that's been soft-of machined with a drum sander, there's no tail stock, and the tool wobbles visibly while taking a light cut.
@@woodtowonder7868 that’s right u got start some where. First u build a machine then u always have to tweak them. Once it’s built it’s usually easier to fix than wondering if it will work on paper. Keep up great projects. I like it.
"atat s-a putut" in combinatie cu "e pacat sa pui surub, daca poti lega c-o sarma". jenant.
Constat ca natura are si ea posibilitatile ei....
