Protect your privacy! This is the simplest and cheapest ultrasonic microphone jammer that you can build yourself!
Yes, it jams even iPhones from couple of meters!
check the project page here : github.com/mco...
The jammer version that I am showing in the video uses 25kHz ultrasonic transducers ( "T25", 20 for 15$ ) , audio amplifier module with TPA3116D2 (less than 5$ ) and Digispark board (3 $)
You need to power it from 12V Li-Ion battery
Before you start asking questions see the details of the last version of this jammer which is less audible and has improved jamming capabilities :
the connections diagram : github.com/mco...
the Arduino Digispark code : raw.githubuser...
To make this device you need :
- Digispark board with ATTINY85 chip you can buy it f.ex. here www.aliexpress... ,
- signal generator module AD9833 which you can buy f.ex. here : www.aliexpress... ,
- mono audio amplifier TPA3116D2 module ( XH-M543 ) which you can buy f.ex. here : www.aliexpress... , ATTENTION ! other modules like TPA3118 or TPA3110 DO NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH TRANSDUCERS !!!
- set of AT LEAST 10 ultrasonic transducers/transmitters/sensors for 25kHz which you can buy here : www.aliexpress...
- 12V-24V at least 1A power source
- colour cable to interconnect all of these devices.
- The capacitors on the diagram are optional (use it only when the audio amplifier does not work and you need to block distortion on GND/VCC lines )
You have to follow my design and use TPA3116D2 board as an amplifer because some others like f.ex. TPA3110 seem not to work with ultrasonic transducers (TPA3110 gives only clicking sound instead of ultrasounds) and TPA 3118 gives too low signal (also do not use it ). Also the ultrasonic transducers/transmitters/sensors MUST be for 25kHz. These for 40kHZ simply will NOT work.

attention ! I have posted new version of the source code on github for Digispark+AD9833+TPA3116D2 design : github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/blob/main/mic-jammer-AD9833-TPA3116D2.png raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/mic-jammer-digispark-ad9833-new-version.ino Now the jammer is barely audible but has good efficiency in jamming - finally as good as commercial sollutions. Other versions - for ATTINY85 , Arduino Pro Mini ... updated as well

Thanks for a great sharing, i tried and it works very well.. mine using 21 25hz transducers with 12v 6A power adapter.. but my version can hear some pulse sound from the transducers.. is it because of the power adapter amp is 6? may i request your suggestion to reduce the sound?

I would like to share the following information: 20khz transducers work well on Android, iPhone 12, 13, 14 in the common, pro and pro max versions, however on iPhone 15, 15 pro and 15 pro max it generates a loud graphic on the recorder but the voice comes out normally, the only one that works on the 15, there are 25khz transducers that force the microphones to redact the sound in order to completely silence it, during the recording there is no noise or voice, I think the solution for iPhones is still 25khz transducers.

hi, very interesting your observation...I would like to know what the effects would be if we manufactured two models, one on 20khz and the other on 25khz which would be used at the same time...or how to cover as many models as possible?

I performed the tests with this project using 21 transducers 25khz, TPA3116D2 100watts, digispark. The test was performed on 1 motorlola g10, 1 motorola g60, a lenovo tablet, a xiaomi 11t pro, and a spy engraver pen. on xiaomi 11t and motorola g10 it worked fine at 5 meters. on motorola g60 it worked up to 2 meters. on the voice recorder pen it worked at 20 centimeters (on the old model it didn't work at any distance). on the tablet did not work. I didn't have an iPhone at the time of the test, but the tablet I used seems to use the same anti-noise circuit as the iPhone. the circuit was assembled and configured according to the scheme indicated in your video, it emitted a strong and audible effect from the transducers.

if you have 40kHz transducers there is a version mic-jammer-40kHz which may work on the spy pen. Its microphone may be not susceptible to 25kHz. Also the question did you use 12V at least 1 Amp to power the jammer?

50 per channel if you are using TPA3116 with stereo inputs. If using single channel I would go up to 60 and this is the max. More can make the impedance too low for TPA3116 chip (it has low limit 2 Ohm) and shortage protection would switch on

Hi. Hi I havent tried with AD9850 so I have no general answer. Audio amplifier module - each TPA3116D2 module can handle up to 40 transducers so you would need to attach many of them (inputs of XH-M542 modules) to the single AOUT/AGND output pins of AD9833 signal generator boards. Please keep mind that more transducers you connect to TPA3116D2 board the HOTTER it will get. Try not to fry it out. IIf you are a beginner, try to use Arduino Digispark module that contains ATTINY85 chip. You need to program this board using INO script and Arduino IDE environment. You do not push HEX files here. INO Script : raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/mic-jammer-digispark-ad9833-new-version2.ino Connection Diagram : github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/blob/main/mic-jammer-AD9833-TPA3116D2.png In my video I am using ATTINY85 (not NE555) .If you want to use directly the same chip ATTINY85 instead of Arduino board you need to have installed : AVRGCC environment ( checlk this tutorial fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/863.16/doc/projects/ftsmin/windows_avr.html ), you need to have USBASP chip programmer and you need to connect chip to the programmer (as I am showing in my video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7klgyNzZ2TI.html) . It's "make life harder" type of approach but its durable : You are using then following source code : raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/main6-new-version2.c You are using following diagram : github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/blob/main/arduino-mic-supresor-ultrasonic-v2-ATTINY85-TPA3116.png And you are using this compilation method for ATTINY85, AVRGCC + USBASP : raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/compileattiny6 The transducers alway have negative pin connected to alloy housing and positve pin isolated, it is also visible on the pictures from the vendor. Easy to locate positive and negative. Also remember to use XH-M542 TPA3116D2 audio amplifers which I found THE ONLY WORKING PROPERLY with piezzo transducers pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005005456023495.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.16.6dc71c24oo8xD5&gatewayAdapt=glo2pol check this page for shopping links : github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/issues/2 I hope it is clear now, good luck !

@justanengineer5599 Год назад
I wanted to optimize the design because digispark has this 5 second delay between plugging the power and starting the program (this is Micronucleus boot loader). So I built my own Digispark and programmed it via AVRGCC and USBASP like this (this is new design with AD9833 but look at LM7805 and ATTINY85 in the diagram): github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/raw/main/arduino-mic-supresor-ultrasonic-v2-ATTINY85-TPA3116.png in the video I was not using AD9833 version yet but this code : raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/main4.c which was working great but was a bit audible. So I ended up with AD9833 version like this raw.githubusercontent.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/main/main6.c the conclusion is that the Digispark version and ATTINY85 version are generally the same except in ATTINY85 version the program starts faster and there is no 5 second delay introduced by Micronucleus Digispark bootloader

@justanengineer5599
@justanengineer5599 Год назад
it is too low. Either Digispark is not generating the signal (do you have an oscilloscope to check the input pin of audio amplifier?) or there is some short/break at the output on the transducers. can you check the voltage on transducers? it should be at least 2x VCC

@@justanengineer5599 I finally managed to get it to work. Turns out I needed to connect wires better and I needed to use D0 and not D1 on digispark. Maybe my amplifier is bad
@justanengineer5599
@justanengineer5599 Год назад
it is still to low. The whole device should draw 0.3A at least. Yes, you may have bad amplifier board Do following checks: 1. Check the wiring 3 times. sometimes attaching additional Electrolytic capacitor 200-1000 microfarads between VCC and GND and some smaller 470nF - 10uF could help. See the updated diagram on my github that contains the capacitors : github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/raw/main/mic-jammer-TPA3116D2.png and github.com/mcore1976/antispy-jammer/raw/main/mic-jammer-AD9833-TPA3116D2.png 2. check the voltage on AD9833 VCC/GND pins if it is 5V. 3. Check the voltage on TPA3116 pin VCC + / VCC - if it is 12V. this board has to be powered from 12Volts at least 4. If using AD9833 board check wiring on Digispark P1 to P3. This is a SPI bus and it has to be connected exactly the way as on a diagram. If you are not using AD9833 then P0 port is kind of GND line for the amplifier audio input, you may connect directly audio amplifier negative Input "-" pin to GND line 5. Audio amplifier board is important. For example TPA3110 does not work and makes this "clicking". Use TPA3116. I will also check if TPA3118 works soon. In general. You messed up the wiring for sure. It should not be difficult to connect few wires especially for MR ROBOT. Invest in Oscilloscope that could help you to run similar hardware projects. It is hard to debug what you have done if I cannot see it. Maybe it would be good to post images / photos of your device on some free image hosting and put a link here ?

mic-jammer.ino if using Digispark, "main4.c" or "main7.c" if using ATTINY85 with DAC resistor ladder. The important thing is usage of TPA3116D2 and at least 20 transducers. It makes 60V peak to peak voltage (when powered from 12V / 1A power source) on every transducer - an this is the max that transducer can handle according to its specification.. which makes 110dB audio power. These transducers are even getting kind of hot when working then. I am using single channel amplifier board. Tested today it jamms newest iPhones from 3 meters when pointing at the microphone. Of course the noise is audible but it jams literally every microphone with such power

The iphone 14 can be jammed but only when 1 particular type of transducers is used 20kHz / 24mm very expensive 10usd per single transmitter. On the other hand the jamming capability can be improved by using the 25khz / 24mm transducers with bigger tollerance that work within +/- 2KHz difference - in the range 23-27KHz not 24-26KHz. This is of course also bound to modification of the source code for this wider bandwidth.

As well as that, infrasonics can also cause tiredness and disrupted sleep.

Is 20khz the best overall? Or only for iPhone? If we are talking about all mic types, all phone types, what is your recommendation?
@justanengineer5599

use 25kHz. The 20KHz seem to work on only one particular type of iphone

Thank you, very excited to get started, have the parts coming soon. What is the minimum amount of 25khz transducers youd recommend if it was for personal use, for say a vehicle or small room. Would you bother with having the transducers directional ie 4 on each side, or all facing up?@@justanengineer5599
@justanengineer5599

about 20 transducers 20kHz should cover small room or the car just fine put them pointing in every direction for better effectiveness. The best would be to use sphere like housing

Good evening. I am interested in purchasing a low cost but high efficiency homemade jammer. My neighbors use a similar device (but since we don't talk to these people........) and I understand when they talk disguised but I understand some very distant statements by always keeping my 'hearing on and my brain is about to melt . Moral of the story, I have to get a jammer to protect my privacy and health. But I also have to get some evidence to make a complaint since I have been suffering for 3 years without being able to react. I await info. Thank you very much.

it will be expensive to send it to the other side of the globe. Try to look for local person with soldering skills who will help you to build it. all the conponents can be easily bought in chineese online shop www.aliexpress.com

no. the opposite effect like noise cancelation can only be achieved through headphones
