@@Lively_1185 I never said that but I’m not going in to change into a long sleeve shirt that won’t protect my skin and just make me hotter and I’m definitely not wearing a motorcycle jacket to test drive a bike with a top speed of 30mph, I just can’t see the justification now maybe a chest protector or something like that, but it wouldn’t have mattered what Ike was wearing when he wrecked he still would have hurt himself all the same🤷‍♂️

@@Rattus-Norvegicus I think it was a little over 1600 for everything. I got the rascal, 212 stage 1 motor, torque converter and some extras. Won’t ever get my money back out of it, but it will be a fun hobby

I'm a fan of acetone for cleaning before paint. If you buy it in larger containers and actually remember to close the lid and keep it out of hot places it probably is quite a bit cheaper than spray cans of any kind of cleaner.

quick bikers secret for the handgrips. use a little liquid dawn dish soap. it acts a lubricant but drys to make them stick better.

I've seen a way to put an oil cooler on a Tillotson engine. You should put one on this. You use the two oil drain plugs and get fittings that screw in and put oil lines on them and then you need a electric oil pump a fuel/oil filter and then the oil cooler.

Use hairspray as a lube for putting your grips on instead of compressed air. They go on a LOT easier and won't budge once the hairspray dries!

I have a challenge for y’all. You already made your own minibike, which was an awesome quick build. But how about you make the most simple minibike frame, out of aluminum! That’s right, focus on EXTREME light weight. Get a build engine with the lightweight flywheel. Try to find some allow rims (ik some 4 wheelers had some 10” aluminum rims that are narrow enough for a mini bike. Maybe it’s a dumb idea but I would love to see it. You could also polish the aluminum instead of painting it.

I hate when that happens! Let you paint dry for a few days and the clear still eats at it.. I believe this happens with the oil based paints like rustoleum and tremclad? Correct me if I'm wrong bit that's the experience I've had and have switch to automotive paint and that seems to work really well. It also dries faster. You guys did an amazing job on that cover, it looks fantastic!! Ike seems pretty down around the 15 minute mark, it'll get better buddy and you'll be back wrenching in no time!! Feel better soon

Great build, guys. Ike, I know how you feel. Saw it in your face when they were prepping for paint. I hate not getting my hands dirty because of being sidelined by an injury. Sucks! By the way, love the "Splatter"paint method! Jackson Pollack would've loved it!

A trick for putting new grips on the handlebars is "hairspray" It acts like a lube putting them on and a glue when it drys.

if you're going old school, you should have went gloss black base, gold leaf pinstripe around the perimeter of the frame.

I want to paint one frame yellow and tape off the frame in stripes then paint it black and remove the tape. It will look like a yellow jacket. I'd paint the front end (handlebars, forks and rim) black. The rear rim should be blast and yellow as well. For the "eyes" , I'd add a double headlight (side by side) and paint it black too. Might be a while 'till I can start a new project. Would be cool to see you two do something similar. The seat could be covered with yellow and black strips sewn together and the tail pipe could be fabricated to resemble a stinger. Haven't decided on the tank yet. Either solid black or striped like the frame.

Dish soap and water is alot cheaper than brake cleaner unless your sponsored. I try and save that stuff as much as I can!

Love the fork. Just need a simple solution for rear suspension. These things are brutal on the back when off-road. I’m working on an old Gilson bike with rear suspension. If I can get it all sorted out it it may be “the one”

When cleaning parts with brake cleaner before painting make sure its non chlorinated if it not it will leave a residue and would be just at bad as if you didnt wipe it at all the can they used was the proper one but should be mentioned so others dont mess up
