Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) ru-vid.comUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.

What is the point of the 4"/5" tube length coming out the top ofthe float switch? Is it for a breather and to ensure that no fluid escapes from the switch casing? Is the 4"/5" tube length the recommended length for this?

Hi, thank for the informative video. I have a question about a Mitsubishi Cassette 12k unit I just had installed in our bedroom. I notice a constant noise besides the the fan noise. It's a constant high pitch noise. My installer explained that the ceiling unit has an internal pump that always runs in cool mode and that's what I'm hearing. I had this exact same pump above the cieling, the reservior was in the unit and the pump failed. Could it be that the distance and the hight difference between the reservior and the pump was too much and the pump ran dry as it couldunt get the water up that high and killed itself? The motor still runs but does not suck the water up anymore. The reservior looked a bit drity but nothing special its only 2 year old. Thanks in advance if you can help :) (I do not want to buy a new pump and have the same thing happen again.)

Well you will hear a silent humming. you schould damp the pump. best would be free swinging 😉. As it is condensate cooled it can handle it. If the AC is under the sealing and the pipes go up you can plase the pumpnin the sealing where it can swing as free as possible.atatching to the pipe will transfere the noise. the pump only runs f om time to time and wount disturb that much. something like a silent pure of a cat from the noise.
