So so glad I came across your video as I’m about to embark on my first Moses basket and this tutorial was so easy to follow and understand. Thank you so so much.
Just finished this project, looks amazing if I do say so myself! One of the best patterns I've ever followed. Super happy with how this looks and all the info available on where to order the stuff.
I finished this version of the basket with the new base! I used the linked wood base in the same size (29.5"x16") and mine had 86 holes. I did the basket 3 times to get the hook size right, but ended up doing one stitch in every hole with a 15mm hook. I did the non-hooded version and it came out great!
Hi @lauren ! Did you use the 15mm hook for all the rounds, including the setup round? My basket is narrowing using the 86 hole base and 9mm hook, so a I am going to try the 15mm hook you mentioned, but wondering how far back I should unravel my basket. Thanks!
ive been making small ones for my bedside table for my creams but im kooking forward to doing this for my 12 grandchild that is due nexed year. really enjoyed watching and its great how you explaind about the tole it takes on your body, so thank you for a great video.
I just completed my first bassinet for my friends baby shower. It came out really nice but I wish I saw your tutorial first. I brought one from another influencer which was great but your instructions are much better omg
Great updated version! Thank you! I made two of the old version for a friends twins and will make two additional for the May and June arrivals of a great niece and nephew! I was very sore with neck/back/hand pain for days after finishing the first two but it’s so worth it!! You didn’t add the extra corner stitches in this version..the basket’s appearance is much improved without them! Thank you for your clear, patient, slow paced tutorial! I love all of them!
I love it the only thing I'd love to be more clear is where to poot the stitch markers I'm dislxic so it's not completely showing I will struggle on whare to poot them xx
I am getting ready to start this project. I am making the hood design. You have made it all look so very simple & elegant to follow your instructions. I want to add an accent color. 1 row around the center and then around the edge. Do you have instructions or advice? Thank you
I have ordered the cord and am about to make my own base (lucky enough to have a Lazer cutter at work) but has anyone in the UK had trouble finding a stand for this size of basket as most UK stands are only suitable for a 30cm wide base. would you also recommend keeping the holes at 10mm apart and scaling the number to size 🤔 This will be a gift for my 1st grandchild due in August so really want to get it right. Really appreciate the help and thank you for such a lovely basket ❤
I'm so excited to start this! I just opened up my base and it has 146 holes. I'm a little worried because I don't know how many holes I need to skip (if any). Do you have any advice on determining how many holes to skip on the first round?
This process can involve a bit of trial and error. I suggestion trying up different variations until you get the combination that works best for your base.
Olá! Adorei o seu trabalho! Vivo em Portugal e vou novamente ser avó. Por gentileza poderia me informar onde posso adquirir esse fio de algodão maravilhoso que utilizou para fazer o berço Moisés? Muito grata pela atenção. Beijinhos
Congratulations! I’ve linked the cord I used in the description box of this video. I think if you purpose the cord directly from Bobbiny, they may ship to Portugal. Another option would be to go to Bobbinys website and check out their list of distributors/stores who carry the cord in various countries. I hope this helps!
@@yarnTh3ory Muito e muito obrigada pela informação! Desejo muito sucesso e saúde na sua vida e continue fazendo lindos trabalhos para deliciarem quem os vê! Um grande beijinho.
My base has 120 holes and I believe the diameter is smaller so really struggling to get my hook in after the initial start off round to single crochet around, it feels like the base is going to snap 😭 this is my fourth attempt (I followed your first pattern and the sides were caving in so trying this one and now can't even get it started!) feeling so deflated x
Hi krysten I love this pattern. Just waiting for my base to arrive to make. Can I just ask why you changed from a 12mm hook on previous basket to a 9 mm one and how does it improve the finished product? Thank you
Thank you! I made the bassinet three times when preparing for the video. I used a 12mm, 10mm and the 9mm. They all came out nicely. The only real difference is that the 9mm hook fits into the holes of the base I used and the stitches are slightly tighter. You can definitely still use a 12mm hook for this project.
Hi, I’m making this at the moment and my hood seems to be asymmetrical… looks slightly taller/longer on the ending side. Is that the intention of the pattern or is there a way to stop this? Thank you 🤗
@@sharonrichards7928 yes my dad ended up making me the board thank god 😍cost me $20 👍the place in Adelaide never replied to me 🤔I can get it through Etsy cheaper even with delivery for now until I can find someone within Australia that supply it ☺️Thankyou so much for replying😊
I have started and ripped mine out so many times...the side keep going floppy...any suggestions please....my base has 117 holes 10mm wide....I am using 9mm braided cord...I tried an increase at each corner without any difference 🤔
You can go to Bobbiny’s website. They have a page that shares where you can buy their cord all over the world. You can also see if they ship to India. As for the other materials. You will have to click the links in the description box to check to see if the vendors ship to you.
I seem to have done this inside out. ugh! I am 3 rows in do we think I should redo it or does it still look okay with the stitches swapped? #pregnancybrain
So I just ordered a new base. My old base has 118 holds. I am going to start over once it arrives since I have two more months. lol I like the way you do the stitches to the base better in this version, so will start over and see if I can make due with the 86-90 holes. I kept feeling this one had way too many holes. I didn't skip any, but the stitches aren't as neat looking, they seem very cramped. But skipping holes didn't look nice to me. I'll update more once i get the new base and begin again!
It’s an ambitious first project but totally doable. Check out the links in the description box for stitches you should know and then you will be able to take on this project.
I am in the middle of making my first moses basket right now for my grandson who is arriving in May. This is perfect timing because it addresses some of the questions I had. Thank you, beautiful work! I am obsessed!
Hi I have finished my basket and it's lovely they only thing I'm not happy with is the shape. Instead of the sides going straight up the first four rows go in and then it goes straight up. Do I need to increase my stitches if so which round or should I just use a bigger hook or any other suggestions?! TIA
I have never done any Crochet before this project and this was very quick and turned out perfectly. My husband made our own base with 100 holes and got it etched with a message on the bottom. Thank you for this fantastic tutorial so easy to follow!
How did he make it with the 100 holes( dimensions etc) I have a friend that has a glow forge that I’m thinking would work and I love the idea of having a message added on the bottom
Could you please show me how the invisible stitch line looks from the inside and outside of the basket and I'm just not sure I'm doing it right ! I would be so grateful! Xx
Bonjour je souhaiterais réaliser votre couffin, pouvez-vous me donner toutes les mesures en français svp merci beaucoup, votre couffin est magnifique !
The video is beautiful, I’m was planning on doing a moses bed for my soon to come grandchild and you explained everything so amazingly it seems very easy to follow along. You visualised everything perfectly. Thank you. I’ll wait excitedly for any new projects you will be publishing
@@yarnTh3ory I have been looking for video like this one, you made very simple! I cant wait to get started. I need to buy the supplies and ship them to Jamaica.
I would love to try making this Moses basket. My fiancé and I are getting married in November and want to start trying for a baby soon after. I would imagine our little baby lying in this basket knowing that I made it while pregnant with them. Would it be possible to make a double layer crochet of an oval shape the size I would use if I was using the board at the bottom? ❤
I see that you start off working the stitches from the inside of the basket out and then at some point you transition to stitches outside in. Can you show where and how you did this. I'm determined to get this right and I've pulled it out four times already. Thank you
Making this for my 1st grandchild that’s due in November so I have some time. BTW you have the most soothing voice, makes me feel like I can do anything!!! Thank you! 😊
@@lindaleejones2330 hi there, I found a guy with a laser cutter on a local FB community group. It cost $35 NZD and he engraved the bottom with “ Made by Nana with love,2024”
Thank you so much for the excellent tutorial and where to purchase materials. I just finished this for my daughter’s first baby due in June. She loves it! ❤😊
I would like to make this for my granddaughter’s dolls. However I am unclear about the directions of crochet. Do you crochet in one direction throughout or do you go the opposite direction once you complete each round?
@@yarnTh3ory thank you very much! I have already nearly completed my first round after the cast on but am feeling a little lost with the invisible joining. I am practising with a mini oval board with 44 holes. I started at the same place as you had in your board (hole1) and finished with a single crochet in the last 44th hole. Would this be the last stitch before joining or would I need to single crochet in hole 1 before joining ?
❤❤❤❤excellent job explaining 😊very clear and easy to follow! Beautiful bassinet!!😊 thank you very much! Can’t wait to start for my 2nd grandchild coming August 2024🎉🎉
Thank you so much for this tutorial... I have to say I love your voice. it's so soothing! Did you. Change from a 12 mm hook used in your 1st tutorial to a 9mm hook this time for any practical reason?
I made the bassinet three times when preparing for the video. I used a 12mm, 10mm and the 9mm. They all come out nicely. The only real difference is that the 9mm hook fits into the holes of the base and the stitches are slightly tighter.
Can you please explain how to miss out the 10 stitches please and also explain the straight bits on the handle. This is my first ever crochet project 😊. Thanks
The instructions to make the tassels are included in the video. Also I explain in detail the reasoning behind skipping holes when reviewing round one. (It is not a needed step for everyone.) Please refer to the time stamps in the description box.
Omg your video is truly amazing seriously. I love the fact that you say to take a rest because my hands were killing me. I have tried making a Moses basket before and gave up. Your video is perfect. Especially the hidden row beginning and how to make it perfect. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wonderful skills. 😊❤
I don't know why watching this video became so sentimental to me. This is quite amazing to see this come to fruition. I am now a HUGE FAN of your crafts. Thank you so so much for sharing this. Takes the heat out of what to make for a baby gift. This is quite an heirloom for new moms and dads.
Sometimes vendors will display the sizes in cm. You can convert the sizes they provide use google just type in cm to inches in the search box and it will pull up a conversion tool for you.
I absolutely love your video of this mose’s basket! I am using a wooden base with 105 holes and a t-shirt yarn by Hooded. I did not skip any holes and my sides are curving in. I’m thinking of taking it all out and possibly skipping 2 holes on each curve . Do you think this will help or do I need to make my stitches looser or use a smaller crochet hook? I’m currently using a 8 mm hook. This is my first time using a wooden base and t-shirt yarn so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 😊
Excellent tutorial! Thank you. Would the technique for the second bag work for a Christmas stocking as well? I have been wanting to crochet some functional stockings for my family but worry that they will get stretched out if we (or Santa) puts anything in it. lol
The waistcoat stitch would definitely work well for Christmas stockings. I believe there is a pattern either on Etsy or ravelry that uses this stitch for that purpose.
