In this video I show how to make a DIY Motorized Timelapse dolly/cart that will work with your GoPro Camera. The project is a really fun one and a great way to get into programing. Most of the parts used in the project can be had for quite cheap and the results are awesome!
The parts used in this project are
Arduino Nano:
Buy: geni.us/iBNl
Data Sheet: store.arduino.cc/usa/arduino-nano
Pololu VNH5019 motor driver:
Buy: geni.us/AG9E
Data Sheet: www.pololu.com/product/1451
I think you could use a product like this: geni.us/ZaVOAHO in place of the motor driver I used as it would be a way cheaper way to go. However, I have not tried it so you may have to change the code a little bit.
4W drive robot base:
Canada: amzn.to/2FpEXEH
USA: amzn.to/2oXALBF
Electronic components needed
10KΩ Resistor: geni.us/iiQzu
500Ω Resistor : geni.us/iiQzu
10KΩ Potentiometer: geni.us/PAQqY
Momentary switch: geni.us/ftRfDFk
LED: geni.us/ZKHeHy
Perfboard: geni.us/m9S5M
Power switch: geni.us/51TIXdr
battery holder: geni.us/9yQvWB
Hook up wire: geni.us/1KABm
Tools you will need
Soldering Iron: geni.us/tA8R
Helping hands: geni.us/lRIGR
Side cutter: geni.us/tABXxIc
Wire stripers: geni.us/BETSCkf (Get red for stranded and yellow for solid)

Think about using stepper motors. That would make the movement much smoother

Stepper motors would be a much better way to build this, although they would be more expensive and a bit more complicated to program

11:03 Goof-Off or Double-D eucalyptus oil work just as well without WD40's residue.

Good call! I have heard of goof-off but double-D is a new one. I will look into that thanks for the comment

I'm thinking of using 2 motors with a single motor driver,and 12v battery source ,do you think the setup will take 1.5-2kgs
@kylemartin101
@kylemartin101 6 лет назад
You should have no problem. If you have not ordered yet and you feel like modifying my program a bit you might try getting stepper motors. They would have been a much better fit for a project like this, allowing for finer control of the carts movements. 1.5-2kgs should be ok if the gear motors are good. You may just have to up the speed the motors ramp to as my code was set up for a much lighter cart.

add a bluetooth and make a mobile app n put some rubber on those wheels n its a perfect setup:)

Oh that is an awesome idea! Useing Bluetooth to input data would be great and much easier then the pot. Plus you could set it up to sync so it only moves when it is not taking photos and only moves once between photos
