Hi there, the set up is looking great. As most have commented a bit more media in the vortex, but other than that everything good. Great to see an appearance of Badger, always smiling 😀. Great job Jason. Thanks for sharing 👍🐟
All looking good and working well. I would say leave the air as it is, but just add a lot more media. If you get the K+ media, it already has a coating of minerals so no need to PP it. Pond balls, that's entirely up to you. I would personally add a large pond bomb for now and keep the balls for topping up. I would advise you to put the balls in a little veg bag hang inside the vortex, so the reminance of the ball shells stay in the bag as they never fully dissolve. When you add more, you can throw away those tiny bits left. All looking good.
Hi Bez Good job on the mods mate , good idea to fit the valves especially on the blade you can knock that off in winter. Nice pick up on the vortex looks to be working well for you plenty of air in there maybe add more media and see how you get on All the best Mike 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Bez, I am sure others will stay the same but I would put in a lot more K1+ and the boil will be perfect. You can get 25/50 litre bags, I reckon you could get another 50 in there easily. All looking good and will work well. I have a similar set up but a 40 gallon black water box. I too have an EA 10K but I don't run it more than 65% through the pod, at that rate it works for me in catching the fish crap. Well done mate your fish will love you lol.
Hi mate, thanks for your comment..I’ve ordered 50L of biocell K1, it’s much cheaper than the EA k1 at 37.50 and I can’t see that it’ll do much different..fingers crossed Ay 🤷♂️ Yeah I run the pod at 50% and it seems to do the job, I may run it quicker when I get the retro bottom drain but will see when the the comes 🙏🏻
Nice update glad everything is going well now ! Given the size of that vortex compared to the eazypod next to it id say you could run 100L of media in that thing ! Buy in bulk grab a 50L bag of similar size media to keep it moving nice and evenly k1, k+, kk1000, biocell micro media or if you're on a budget biocell k1 from all pond solutions is £37.50 for 50L My pick would be the k+ or the biocell micro but it depends on how big you made your hols as the biocell micro is between the size of the k1 and k1 micro. Ps I wouldn't turn the Air flow down I'd keep adding media until I got the flow I wanted even if that turned out to be 150L 🤣🤣
@@bezzaskoichannel3856 I believe it's very similar to k1 same buoyancy and nearly same surface area the main differences are the thickness of material it does squash slightly more easily than K1 and the outer surface seems a little more smooth but like you said the price seems unbelievable ! Make sure you take a handful of your KK1000 out and compare them for us side by side before you pp the biocell !
Great addition Bezza just made one myself out of a 220 litre barrel, I’m no expert but id turn down the air a little bit Regarding how much media I’ve read it’s 50-60% of how much water is in the chamber and that vortex is a beast 👍
Nice purchase of market place, and good modifications to ensure no loss of Media. I would go for 100L if you can as it will be of benefit later on. All good and keep the videos coming ;-)
Very good value, got mine from Coastal Koi, forget what I paid for it but I had a really good look around for alternatives to K1 and this was the best I found
The issue with the gate valve may be the seals. You can get a replacement set for around £20 and very easy to fit. Also you could use one of the holes in the vortex as an overflow back to the pond in case the water level rises so you don’t empty the pond. You could put your trickle in/ top up through one of the holes. I heard you mention you got the mesh from Halesowen, are you local to there?
Hi mate…I’ve sealed the valve now but yeah I’ll bear it in mind if I ever need it but doubt is will, needs to be open permanent! Defo a decent idea to have an overflow, may look at that soon! Yeah I lived in Halesowen for years 🙏🏻
@@bezzaskoichannel3856 I used to live in Halesowen, Grange Road. I live in Wolverhampton now so if you ever need any fitting etc I have a load of spares.
Hi mate, defo on a budget but in my opinion it’ll work the same as the expensive ones in the shop…bloody koi tax! Yeah it’s by gravity mate, I’ve found as long as the outlet for the vortex is a fair bit higher than the inlet for the pond it’ll have a decent flow…it’s really pushing my water round and the pump is only at 50% 🙏🏻
