DIY Mud Water Recipe IN BULK!

EDIT: DO NOT ADD 1/2 CUP SALT! I made a scaling error of astronomical proportions, and it's definitely wayyy too much. As I mention in the video, rather than mixing salt into the bulk recipe, I recommend leaving it out and adding individually to each cup if you want to include it. Otherwise you risk making an entire 100 cups too salty!

Thank you for making this video! You will save me $100's every year. My liver lacks the necessary enzymes to break down caffeine, resulting in very severe acne and much anxiety. My first bulk batch I replaced the Cacao with Carob Powder due to a mild cacao sensitivity (noticed when consuming the real Mud/WTR). It was pretty good, but this 2nd batch I did 1.5 cups Carob, 1.5 cups Cacao, and also added 1/4 cup ground Ginger. The result is a marvelous mix of spice, sweet and yummy. Finally, 10 years of troublesome acne GONE and I can still have my morning cup of energy fluid so vital to my ability to exist. So... THANK YOU !!!

Did this actually save you money? I'm trying to figure this out because I also have a medical issue and Mud has helped me so much but the cost is difficult. I can't for the life of me figure out how this recipe is a savings though when a 90 day bag of Mud on the subscription plan is $100 and these ingredients that make 100 servings cost roughly $125, plus the time and hassle of making it and pouring it into containers. How does it save hundreds a year? What am I missing here?

I love the idea of adding 1/4 cup ground ginger! Is there a special brand you used ? Thank you! I also suffered with acne my whole life and have to continue to use sodium sulfacetamide 10% lotion each day, just a drop but it keeps it at bay. But If I could do it naturally, that would be amazing! At 55, I'm done with acne, sooooo done...

So I've tried Mud/Wtr. It took me sometime to learn how to prepare it to my liking, but once I did I really cant imagine a better drink to start my day. It is easily better than any of the $5+ specialty drinks at local shops. Its funny because I found this video searching for new recipe ideas to prepare the drink. Now I find myself planning on how to add my own twist on it using Kayla's ingredient list as a start. Thank you so much for making this video, it seems to open a new door to personal beneficial hobbies.

@@jugaadityourself8950 I've made a few batches now and have noticed a few things. I absolutely love this drink and have about 3 cups a day. I decided to try coffee again and did not like how I felt after a few cups. This is shocking to me as I liked coffee and rarely made it a weekend without some a month ago. This not only tastes better but gives me the right amount of energy to maintain my day. Sometimes I'll add a lil coffee to it while it brews and that worked for me. Each batch I make is a little different, and I enjoy trying new combinations. I would love it if you would cover alternative ingredients. I saw someone here mention ginger and it got me curious as to what else might be good to add every once in awhile... maybe matcha? When I first started making this in bigger cups I struggled with it being too watery, and I dont always have enough Coconut Milk Powder or honey around to suit my taste. I typically make the tea in my cup and add steamed half and half to the top of it. Been my favorite way to top it off. Its been a lot of fun trying to get this perfected.
@kanoosh78
@kanoosh78 3 года назад
@@NewWindable this is how I've been making mine! I've been weaning off coffee and I've been slowly adding less and less. My thing is I like it creamy. That's my thang, so I've been adding half hot water and steamed half/half along with some of the MCT/coconut milk powdered creamer. I really appreciate the richness of it. I use Kayla's mix as a base and depending on what I'm wanting that day, add more of whatever, on a cup by cup basis. Its fun to try different things with it in addition to more turmeric, ginger and mushroom powder, and pretty much any powdered tea. Definitely a good one to have on hand and I can't see a negative in drinking it as is.

Thanks for making this! Your recipe is very helpful. Because I like my chai spicy, I add a tablespoon of ground ginger, a tablespoon of ground cloves and some ground black pepper to help the turmeric work better. When I mix mine, I start with a cup of hot black tea (instead of water) for a little extra caffeine and I find the tea base adds a smoothness to the cup. Appreciate your video!

Kayla, Hey thanks for posting this! I’ve been drinking MUD\WTR for awhile now and decided to give your recipe a shot, but I the 1/2 cup of salt is WAY off. I mixed everything to include the salt in because I’m lazy and then all I could taste was salt. The rest of the ratios were fine for me. I highly recommend paring down your salt ratio by at least half. I know you said you added it after the fact, but for anyone who is using the ratios straight up- don’t use 1/2 cup! I was able to fix it by increasing the other ingredients, but it almost ruined my batch and luckily I had extra Masala chai. I also like to add more cloves and sometimes cayenne, but this is a great base recipe!

Kayla - Well, I followed your recipe to make 50 servings. (I could have made 100, but I didn't think my container was large enough - which it is....)The difference between the original and yours, so far is the "mud" seems to be less noticeable at the bottom of the cup. So - hats off! I was dreading the dregs at the bottom of the cup, so I had decided to just mix it in with yogurt. Your recipe is GREAT! The only thing I could not find was the cinnamon, so I got that in bulk at our health food store. Well done! Maybe you should rename it Less Mud Mudwater

Cocoa gives you that magnesium hit. I generally eat 88% chocolate to get the magnesium rush. Much better cleaner energy than caffeine. This mix if everything will be interesting to try and experiment with. Was going to buy the MUDWATER brand but that seems a bit expensive. Even if it tastes bad I will drink it if it gets me away from coffee and has less negative side effects. Pretty sure I get headaches from one cup of coffee in the morning. Just waiting for two more ingredients to arrive.

I think you may have wrong proportions for the salt (which may be why you don't like to mix it in!). Mud water lists 10mg of sodium per serving and the salt you listed is 550mg of sodium per 1/4 tsp. That works out to a little less than 1/2 tsp per 100 servings -- though you would probably want to grind it very fine so it would mix in well. :)

This is so great THANK YOU, Kayla! I saw your first video and just knew it was going to be the base for my morning mudwtr dupe, then I saw this one for the bulk recipe and was like ok, this woman did all the heavy lifting and HOOKED US UP! I already had the chai tea powder and have been using that brand for years. I had actually been adding it to the real mud/wtr for some extra kick, so i knew your dupe was gonna work for me. It's fantastic and a great base. I think most people can use this and tweak it to their liking with extra creamer, sweetener, and whatever else they might add to their morning drink ritual. Personally, I add some steamed chocolate milk and a shot of espresso (I'm in the process of weaning and it's working really well with this blend.👍🏻) I'm also going to start adding some collagen to it and possibly substitute a choc or vanilla protein powder for the chocolate milk. Very versatile and SO MUCH CHEAPER. Thanks again ✌🏼

Later when I have another cup I will see if I calmed it down enough. When I was taking a turmeric supplement I had to stop because it upset my tummy. Hi hi! If you look at the tabs across the bottom, there's a tab called bigger batches which should be in cups! Again, don't add the amount of salt that I mention in the video, it's wayyy too much!

love your recipe; will you be doing others on the MW rooiboss or turmeric combo. Thanks. On a budget; this helps so much. Cannot drink regular coffee..have watch mw due to high mineral content.

I have been enjoying my MUD/WTR this last week and I just made your batch. Too spicy. I was hoping it would be closer to the original MUD. I will be tweaking this batch. Lessening the tumeric and chai next time along with adding more Sacred 7 and see how that goes. I'm thankful I added the full 3 cups of cacao or else I wouldn't have been able to drink this. I feel this is a recipe to be experimented with but it is not quite balanced for a good MUD comparison for me just yet. I really appreciate this base recipe tho😍

I must admit I prefer the taste of the real mud water, but for the price savings this is a winner and still tastes great. Has anybody tweaked the recipe to get the taste closer to the real mud water?

The diy mud seems to have a smoother taste than the real mud. I would reduce the amount of cacao powder in her recipe to lean towards real mud.

So I tried this at home after a friend made it in front of me and let me have some - I started adding it to my coffee daily and fell in love. I did NOT buy all the recommended brands... Unfortunately, the mixture I have made comes out slimy when I add it to my coffee.. I've never had cinnamon due that, but that is definitely the culprit. Don't use Vitamatic Organics cinnamon powder.

I LOVE your recipe for DIY Mud Water! Thank you! Will be using your links, too, to help your channel. Did you know there's another gal who has your same recipe and has made a short video of doing this same thing? It is just the recipe and she doesn't share about each ingredient but she did take your recipe that you worked up. I don't think that's right. Her name is Lauren Nicole Jones.

What is the cost comparison? Does it tastes the same or similar to Mud Wtr? I just quit coffee and purchased the MW 30-day, but I like the idea of making my own, granted it saves money.

Thank you so much for the video. I think it is the best recipe on youtube. Quick question, when I make my own at home I always find a lot of residue left over at the bottom of the mug after drinking. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong?
