Great sign! If you ever want colors to look more grungy or dulled out then you can always add in whatever color is opposite on the color wheel. So for the blues it would be orange. I find this gives a different effect than just adding in gray or black. I do hair and this is how they teach us to mix vivid colors.
Couple of things: 1- your sign is beautiful! 😍 2- how did you drill holes in your sign? What did you hang it with? 3- where can I get a gold stand like that? Thanks for all the info!
Hi! Thank you so much ❤ Here are tutorials on how to make the copper stand and also drilling holes in acrylic: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xNmxEo0RW84.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--PKhhcYJ2gU.html
Hi Carly! Thank you for this tutorial. Do you have to use outdoor vinyl? I am making a wooden sign and an acrylic sign and was just going to use permanent vinyl for both. Thank you!
Yes, all the time!! The florist typically does with green floral wire. Then we either wrap it to the easel or tape to the back of the sign to hang over the front. Hope that helps!
Any advice on removing paint? I use acrylic as well and scared to use acetone. My clients changed colors ;( I haven’t tried washing it off on acrylic yet since I wanted your opinion
I've tried removing paint but it just takes too much time and practically ruins the acrylic. So I would keep the already painted piece for a future client and start with a fresh piece of acrylic to paint! Consider charging your client a fee for the additional acrylic/time to recreate 👌
If you need to set it on a wine barrel or smaller I would go with a 18x24". Those are the 2 sizes I am offering for welcome signs and they seems to fit most needs!
