Slowly, but surely, we are transforming our English country style house into a home. Lately, I've been focusing on transforming our traditional English country style boot room or mudroom with lots of budget friendly and/or thrifted vintage elements. This video is about transforming the Ikea kitchen cabinets in our boot room or mudroom by painting the kitchen cabinet doors in Stony Ground by Farrow & Ball, adding decorative trim to our shaker style cabinet doors and building decorative toe kicks. Doing this, totally transformed our off-the-shelf Ikea kitchen, making it look like a beautiful bespoke country style painted kitchen.

J’aime beaucoup ❤cette transformation d’un basique IKEA. Le style campagnard intemporel que vous avez su mettre en valeur m’émeut toujours. Souvenirs d’un autre temps et de l’affection d’une grand mère . Je vous envie les petits recoins(derrière le robinet de la cuisine par ex mais aussi les fenêtres etc) qui offrent souvent asile à un objet ou une plante préférée. On ne trouve plus ces « quelques notes » que les agenceurs trouvent inutiles, dans les logements actuels. Idem pour les soubassements des meubles que vous avez joliment ornés : ils ajoutent de la rondeur, je dirais de la féminité,à ce basique utilitaire un peu « sec ». 😊

Merci! L’une des raisons pour lesquelles j’aime les vieilles maisons est qu’elles offrent tant de bizarreries. Parfois, ils rendent nos conceptions plus compliquées, mais cela vaut toujours la peine d'en faire une fonctionnalité.

It is amazing the difference with the cabinet doors by adding a simple trim. They now have more depth and look custom. I have never seen the trim angle cutter before, OMG amazing! Is the cutter easy to use? Does it give a clean angled cut every time? What does the vegetable glycerine do? I am really enjoying your videos. Your kitchen looks stunning

I know - such a difference in appearance from a couple of simple changes. The trim cutters are amazing for smaller profiles. The trim I use is about 15mm x 5mm and it cuts accurately every time. I'm not sure how they would go with bigger trim yet though. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos - thank you!

I love to watch your videos before bedtime. They are very relaxing with a cup of tea. What is the glycerine and eucalyptus oil for. Im sorry, im not familiar.

Thank you! Eucalyptus can be preserved in glycerine. Instead of putting the plant in water or drying it, it can be put in glycerine for approximately 3 weeks and then used as a dry flower. Although it would dry out on its own, it becomes very crinkly, which doesn't happen with the glycerine. Then slowly over time, the leaves turn a lovely pinky purple colour.
