These are beautiful! And your instructions are so clear and precise. The only thing I will do different is instead of crimping the middle of the bottom of the scales to make it go around the egg, I will cut a little notch there. For me, this will be easier as I am losing my ability to do fine work like the crimping. I will let you know how the notching of the paper works. Anyhoo, I love the metallic look, so I will be looking for paper in all the metallic colours! Thank you for sharing this lovely craft! 💕🎄
Dragon eggs! 😂 Sorry just finished “House of dragon “ But champagne is one of my colors so it’s nice to see it in my color of choice. 😍 I’m definitely trying this! You did a beautiful job.
All I have to say is that there are NO words to describe how amazing you are, this was explained so well, I will have to try to find the supplies and make one, thank you and happy holidays!!
Such elegant and chic pine cone decorations! I absolutely adore these. I’m going to have a try at making some. Wish me luck 😊 So happy that I found your channel Oksana. Merry Christmas and happy holidays 🦌🎄💫 Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
I love this! If I made 1” scales, would those fit the small egg? I made a mistake cutting and only rewatched the video today to hear they should be 2.5” each! Wanted to use the 100 scales i neatly folded 😫
Love your video. I use to make these out of ribbon. I understand how you say it looks like a fish scale. I say it looks, Ike an artichoke if you put too many scales. LoL
Please could you tell me, could I just cut the corners off instead of folding them? I love them I am going to try but I will make a mess I’m sure. I can’t quite understand do you start with four pieces and then five, then six. Am I just dumb? 😂😂
I think that if you just cut the corners, you won't get such a beautiful effect. Yes, the first row is 4 scales - two opposite each other, and the subsequent scales are the second row, going below the first. Hope this helps❤️
In my case, I could only use glue, but I wanted to share the original technique. If your paper is thinner, you might not need glue at all. Overall, feel free to choose between glue or pins based on your preference.
Oksana I love your directions, so clear and concise. Thanks so much, I'm subscribing! Please tell us what size the squares for the smaller egg are, Thank you!
Stunning, I think I will use the same pretty Champagne Gold Christmas paper on my pinecones, it will look lovely with my matching wrapped presents, I'm getting excited at doing this, thank you and a Very Merry Christmas to all from Australia where our Christmas' are hot and colourful with Prawns, Lobsters, Cold Ham, Mango Salsas, Pineapple Passionfruit Mango and Kiwi Fruit Pavlovas, Ice-cream puddings with fresh cherries, mango and passionfruit mixed in and drizzled with chocolate and pistachio nuts and a variety of salads all washed down with a cranberry fruit punch, champagne or ales to drink.
Thank you very much for sharing with me how Christmas goes in Australia, it's very interesting! You described everything so vividly, and I imagined it as if in reality that my mouth just watered🤤😂! Happy Holidays🎄❤️
What a darling project!! Have you tried using T-pins (or quilters pins)? I guess it would be too hard to hide them? Anyway, I can't wait to try this craft! ♥
Fantastic, but not affordable for everyone. Each egg that size or the size you suggest on the items list is $9.97 in other words, $10 for the plain egg alone! 😮
These ornaments are stunning I am going to get the supplies I need and have a go . TFS your instructions on how to make them your voice is nice and slow and your directions very clear , thank you ,happy holidays to you & your family 🎄🛷⛄️🎅🏻
Hi Priscilla, thank you💕 Can you explain what do you mean by "how to cut the paper"? I'm cutting it with my scissors and you can literally see it in the video
Can I use recycled paper like shopping bags or thin cardboard...painted...and also paint the paper with glitter before assembling ? My hands are not that steady lately.
Hi Victoria! I think you can as long as the paper is thin and flexible, otherwise it’s very difficult to work with. I’m not sure about glitter, but you can try!💕
These are gorgeous! But, it takes time to learn to make them. I have made 2 so far. The 1st was awful. The 2nd is OK. I hope the next couple pine cones will take me closer to your level 🙂.
These are gorgeous! I have a couple of questions... What size squares did you use for the smaller pine cone? Can you glitter the squares before you put them on the the foam egg or does the glitter just fall off?
You are so talented and amazing. Your creations are stunning with attention to detail, design and style. What a gifted artist you are. Simply beautiful and made with love.
I just saw your channel for the first time today. The first one I watched was the beautiful tree you decorated with these pine cones. Both sizes of pine cone you paper crafted are so well done, that I could easily imagine them in Pottery Barn. So well done, from the materials, to the colors, to the glitter embellishment, completed by your detailed execution. Perfect!
This look amazing. But unfortunately, it's terrible for the environment. All that polystyrene, glue and glitter (which is basically microplastics) i hope will not end up in the trash too soon. :( Please, i hope you will at least conside not using so much glitter int future? Not only is it hard to clean and you'll find it everywhere in the house for a while, it's also bad for our health and the nature since it never disappears, it only gets smaller and smaller (that is the case with every plastic item out there). It's true that we can't avoid it in our everyday life but we can choose to make decorations with more natural elements insetad of buying all these things.
