I found a book at my local Half Price Bookstore entitled. The Encyclopedia of Papermaking & Bookbinding It has a lot of great ideas.

I did used to always keep a few spare rolls of HP5 in the truck, but I don't know how Polaroid film would handle all of the change in temperature. Haha.

Give it a try! The kit I bought came with an awl and I used the cradle I purchased so the holes were all evenly spaced and lined up right.

A great tool that I use all the time instead of an exacto knife is a surgical scalpel. You can get a handle and box of 100 non-sterilized blades for nothing. The blades are of course extremely sharp (and still cut flesh - ask me how I know), but lock into the handle in a rock solid way. It is lightyears better than a craft knife. Also, in a pinch, you can bind with non-scented floss. It is already waxed and readily available. #craftdaddies

@@mattdayphoto they work incredibly well. I use the rounded blade instead of the one with like a 45 degree angle. Book binding can be super rewarding.

Love it! I recently made my father in law a photo book for his birthday. I did it as a hardback using Japanese stab binding, super easy to make look really good with fabric covers and riveted holes. Give it a try!
