@couldyoucook3085
@couldyoucook3085 3 года назад
I don't have a complete list to be honest. It was a while ago now So i would struggle to remember it all, and a lot of it depends on what you have around the house and also what materials/expenses you're happy to deal with. The playlist breaks down the process in a lot more detail, particularly the first video for the base which shows the initial materials I used to build the dome, but even that doesn't include things like tape and nails etc. Here's a link to that video if that helps ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MCkNHkzfUEQ.html I might make a 1 year later video and work on a list for that as you're not the first to ask. @couldyoucook3085
@couldyoucook3085 3 года назад
It's holding up nicely in my opinion. There is cracking but only superficial. This build cost around $300 (could easily spend another $1k on materials for professional quality oven) so it was always a compromise on materials. I just used general purpose cement and vermiculite (in future I would use perlite) and am happy with the results. I built the stand in such a way it wouldn't be difficult to remove if I had a failure

really nice job. thanks for the idea. and do you think this type of oven can work for small scale business? like if I do 2 of them where each can take two pizza doughs at a time. I am wondering if this formula still can cook a delicious pizza and some other bakeries? thank you,
@couldyoucook3085
@couldyoucook3085 3 года назад
For a business it is definitely worth investing more in the materials to make something that holds the heat for longer, this style of oven is good for a family bbq with half a dozen pizzas, but looses the heat quickly, a serious pizza oven will stay hot all day without having to constantly add fuel
@rmlabdullayev
@rmlabdullayev 3 года назад
@@couldyoucook3085 thank you mate for valuable advice. I am considering to use a natural gas, rather than wood fire, because I am going to build it into the café. I want to keep it light and portable, in case I change the spot. but do you think this structure can work good for natural gas heating? again thank you
@couldyoucook3085
@couldyoucook3085 3 года назад
@@rmlabdullayev The main reason for building a pizza oven is the taste, which is from the wood fire, the design is to accommodate a wood fire and get it hot enough to cook a pizza in 90 seconds. If you are considering natural gas then a decent gas oven will work fine (probably much better) than trying to make one, and be cheaper than building a commercial grade pizza oven.

Smart move making the base first making use of the same plywood, smarter move moulding the chicken wire beforehand, saving the torture of trying to mould it on to the wet mix, not to mention the recessed fire brick on the base etc. I'm going to take some of your idea's! Going to try perlite instead. Do you have an issues with the vermiculite with wet weather? Thanks Enjoy the pizza's.

@couldyoucook3085
@couldyoucook3085 3 года назад
Yes they are firebricks. It's for cost. This build cost about $300. While using more firebricks would make a better oven, when I built this in peak covid it was $8 per brick. Also in my case it was for weight due to the kind of stand I've made. Bricks in the middle means it's a hot cooking surface.

A pizza oven is totally on my list, though I imagine mine is not going to be nearly as nice of a build. 😂 Was afraid the exercise ball was going to be sacrificial. Glad to see that you had as game plan to recover it. And that pizza looked so good. I managed to make a stove top pizza with biscuit dough the other day by flipping the dough partway through cooking and then topping it, but I'll be glad when I have a properly yeasted dough and wood fired goodness. Or just any oven at this point. I never realized how much I would miss the ability to bake.

Stove top pizza can be good, I don't mind them with like a pita bread or a wrap. The trick is not to load them up too much. The exercise ball was a nightmare to source as it was in the middle of covid lock down and everything was sold out 🙄 the missus recons she will use it now so we will see haha.
