Hi Darleen! I Just did the plastic bag rope loom. I did the loom template out of a plastic plate. I only got to do one plastic bag, Lol the loom template broke just as i finished. The end result is ok! 😊 Its 1:50am here in Sydney Australia. I thought I try it since i cannot sleep. Thank You for your inspiration. ❤😊👍

As much foolin around with rope as we did in Boy Scouts, I've never seen one of these looms. I've helped the wife do a three-strand plarn rope for beach bag handles but the 7 strand rope you just whipped up is certainly stronger and looks neater. Kudos!

I know this was made a year ago, just hope you see my comment. The first bag you started off with, my husband used to work for that company “Shur Fine” before it became Topco I believe. So cool that just saw that company logo. Gotta try this out with the bags that I have.

I had to show my daughter's the part where you said a dog leash could be made this way. My teen daughters are always buying turn out lines (no fence yet at our new off grid home). Their dogs are always messing the tie outs up and their $15-20 each! And they don't even use them much as they're house dogs. The tie outs say 125# dog. And they're broke! Lol We have a 55lb Aussie Rott mix. And a 95# St Bernard Mastiff "puppy". Lol I'm going to make some of these and see how strong they are. Maybe we'll experiment. Lol

You can iron the plastic bags. Just make sure your iron is on medium heat and you have a piece of parchment paper. No knots. Fuse the bags together.

Darlene I just started watching like a month ago and since this is my first comment I have to say "hi!" I'm loving your stuff! Me and my girls used this to make jump ropes! We used 2 in wide strips. Keep the cool stuff coming!

Hi Darlene. I'm weaving the plastic bags and sewing the rope into a mat. My problem is the mat seems to be curling up instead of lying flat. I don't have a particular size in mind.....but wow a rug size would be great (and probably not gonna happen!). Would you please tell me what I am doing wrong that the mat won't lie flat? I love these crafty videos. Thank you so much!

Put dryer lint in empty egg carton cups and pour melted wax (paraffin or old color crayons) over for firestarters

I sort of did. You don't want an entire loop of t-shirt fabric as it might be too bulky for the loom. But might work for a bigger loom. With single strand, you cut a slit on each end of the fabric to create the loop you need to pass the fabric through and that's what I did with the t-shirt fabric.
