For all the people saying "you can buy one" maybe peoples parents dont like them wasting money. You can use stuff around the house to make one! I love this video btw
Aw thanks! You're so sweet. And true! Before I buy anything I always take inventory of what I have around the house to see if I can make something instead. DIY for life :)
Icecreamloverlol haha yup you're absolutely right, I recorded the voiceover a few times to make sure I got all the steps in there and couldn't figure out why I had described it like that afterward. My mom would be so disappointed in me since she was the one who taught me about sewing growing up lol 😂 😂 thanks!!
Yayyy. So happy to hear this!! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Definitely test out your suction cup with your phone/phone case if you use one because some work better than others. But as long as it's kept clean it should hold up very well :) I've been loving it so far!
Me: Mom can I go to the mall today with my friends Mom: Go ask dad Dad. Go ask mom Me: 🙄 (rolls eyes) (edited) OMG! Thank you for all of the likes I wasn't expecting this many likes!!
What an interesting idea. I myself own a popsocket. and love it. one of my favorite things about it though is that it's retractable so I can keep it on my phone at all times. But for people who want to customize or don't want to spend the money on the an actual pop stock this is a great project. :D
Yes I agree!! That's the downfall, it not being retractable. I'd say that this is more useful for carrying around in a purse or to keep on your nightstand for temporary use, since it is resistant to being pulled off but can be slid off quite easily if you want it to :) Thank you so much for watching!!
Omg for the longest time I've wanted a popsocket. This is so handy and finally.... One that's not clickbait!! My only problem is that can you push it down or does it just stay up?
At first when I saw this video while searching, I thought it will be fake, but until I saw it, it blew my mind and now i know the perfect DIY gift to give to my beloved ones.
Katie Bookser your very welcome!! It's such a great idea for people who want to be different from others or people who don't want to spend money, this is the best!!
Not a rude comment FYI... just always confused on diy popsockets. I'm a huge popsockets fan & collector & so many of my fans always tell me they want me to try to make my own from scratch like this ...but what I don't understand about making your own in this case is that E 6000 glue is like anywhere from five dollars to nine dollars and then you said that the suction cups were like 6 dollars right? Plus shipping if they don't have prime ... Plus how many people have a hot glue gun ? And I know I don't have a pin with a ball on the end ... So already you're over the price of a real popsocket to buy all the DIY items so why make your own that's kind of what my mentality is? So I guess my question to people who ask people to do this is why do they want to create one themselves? Is it to save money or just be really original ? I'm all about DIY I love creating DIY designs and what not but I'm still completely confused about why people want to make DIY popsockets ?? Great job by the way but it just blows my mind that people won't spend $10 on a real one. I have over 115 of them and not one of them has ever broken unless it was fake. Besides I'm pretty sure that suction cups won't stick to most phone cases, so again I applaud you and I'm not in any way directing this comment towards you personally but it just blows my mind that people would rather piece together something that could break and doesn't work properly or retract and also costs just about the same amount of money as the real thing 😲
Kimbyrleigha Wow that's quite a collection you have there. I think people gain unique fulfillment from creating things themselves - which is probably why you get a lot of questions about a DIY option from your fans. For some reason it doesn't seem like that same fulfillment is attained by just buying the final product.
What about international viewers? Popsockets aren't sold worldwide, and even if people can buy them where they live, they are much more expensive than $6. In Canada, they are $15 each and not widely sold. If I want to buy them from the Popsockets website, it'll cost me $27.03 (including shipping) to buy ONE Popsocket. If I lived in say, Australia, I can guarantee you that Popsockets would be even more expensive and even harder to come by. You are fortunate to live somewhere where this product is widely available for a very inexpensive price, but not everyone gets that luxury.
thank god ! everyone makes vids on diy popsockits but they're always just decorating real ones or they use like straws & cardboard or something. urs look way better & i luv them. other diy ones usually suck
DUH ITZ ME ? Glad you enjoyed it! It sticks because of the suction of the cup. I mentioned in the video that I recommend testing it with your type of phone or cover though because it will work well with some and not as well with others. Just like any DIY! Thanks for watching! 😊
I feel like I can't choose which one I really like the most because, they are all really cool ways to decorate your own DIY pop socket. I think I really like the watercolor pop socket though because, the colors you chose are really cool and unique and it really inspired me to try them out! Please do another DIY video!😀👍💕
°°·"Diy" popsockets·°° 1. Get a job 2. Use your money to buy a car. 3. Use your car to go to Target. 4. pick a popsocket. 5. Go to a checkout aisle and pay. 6. Unbox and put it on your phone! THERE "HOMEMADE" POPSOCKET!!
WOW this was great! I really want to try this now! - do you think you can use superglue instead of hot glue? Anyway - I've subscribed, your videos seem really professional and informative! I make vlogs, travelling with my eccentric mother ~ I'd love it if you had a spare moment to check those out / subscribe if you enjoy them! Have a wonderful weekend, Katie! xoxo
Thank you!! So happy that you enjoyed it. I think you could definitely use superglue it would just take a lot longer to dry, since hot glue dries pretty quickly, so keep that in mind :) Thanks a bunch and I'll check out your travel videos
ChRiStInA UkUnI same its rainbow it even includes pink and BABY BLUE edit: Im now depressed because I broke it while on a swing in a park and I loved it so much
Katie Bookser Your welcome for watching it 😊 and I loved this video and I just found your channel so I can't wait to go watch all the other amazing videos you have!!!!
love this.. i mean mom doesnt want to buy me one... and the one that my friend gave me broke. so what i did was i glued the design from the brocken one to the suction cups. love this... thank u so much
and great thinking of these ideas of how making them instead of wasting like 5 to 10 bucks on those your always a life saver i like all your genius ideas keep up the RU-vid work and hope u get to
it makes me happy to know that one RU-vidr actually has e600 which is something I have that I can use cuz no RU-vidr that I know of has anything to craft with that I have around my house so I'm super excited to make it tomorrow cuz right now I Minnesota it's 12:59
I think the point of these videos is for people who have these sorts of things in their house already, lots of people have strong glue on hand, sewing needles, hot glue, etc. the only thing people may not have is the suction cups. It may not work exactly like a pop socket but it’s more cost efficient if you already have all/most of the supplies already. Plus this gives you the option of customization without having to pay lots of money to customization. And pop sockets, once you put them on your phone they’re never coming off unless you completely tear it off and ruin the pop socket and potentially the case.
Although I have 2 real popsocket (which I love ) i like this as well because i like how you can call it your own and it's going to be unique and it's super fun to make! Me and some of my friends at my birthday party made some and no 2 looked the same!! I love this so much thanks a lot 💗
This was an amazing video with great editing. The only thing is that you won't be able to close it. I tend to put my phone in my back pocket and that just wouldn't be comfortable with the popsocket sticking out. Great idea but there are a few cons. Not to leave hate but adding up the money that would be the same amount, if not more than what a actual popsocket cost. I love your channel but like i said, a few cons
haylee coyle Thats ok and I totally respect everything that you said and appreciate you saying it in a very constructive way. I definitely get why it would be a con not to be able to push it down, that's definitely a minus. For me, I had all the materials so it only cost me a little over $1 per popsocket, and lots of other people have had this experience as well so I'm happy about that! But I do appreciate your comment and how you presented it 👍🏼 and most importantly thank you for watching 😊
