1/8 of an inch is thick and very heavy! An 18 Ga sheet would have been enough and very sturdy. Good job, blessings in this Good Friday.

Hello again. I really enjoyed this one. Sweet ingenuity my friend. Have been toying with doing a power pack build, and I recon this might just give me the push... Once my CNC and a bunch of other projects are done, of course ;) Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Thank you for the introduction to a cool song! Nice build too, btw. 💯👍🏼

OMG, I actually stumbled across your channel because I want to make something similar. I'm just renting the auger, however I really want to compact the bottom of the hole before gravel and sono tube. Gas power pack is what I need to build, then a vertical ram. Saved and subbed!

Really smart way to bend that metal!!! I never would of thought of that! I would of just cut and welded it back! Glad I came away from this smarter thank u

The engine vibrates because the mass of the cart is not enough Also you need a few dampers to put between the engine and the steel plate

Is there a rule of thumb to figure out Engine HP needed to power the hydraulic pump based on the GPM flow of the pump. I have various motors and pumps and I would like to power a hydraulic winch. Any input would be appreciated

Think you Sir from North East india for me as a beginner I learn about hydrolic unit .Sir can you explain which pump will be good for lifting 10 ton.

Very nice. I also am setting up a similar unit. I need help understanding hydraulics and flow. I picked up a complete enerpac hose crimping unit the other day for 250usd which should help.

That’s a rather unique tool post on the lathe. Not a lantern or quick change, but the clamp seems pretty easy to change out tools still. What brand lathe is it?
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades Год назад
it's an old austrian emco lathe from the 70's, a V10 to be exact

Why did you not use the bell housing adapter that you showed at the start of the video?
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades Год назад
because the holes didn't lign up properly and if I had to re-drill them into the bought bell-housing, I figured I might as well save me $50 bucks and build my own to specs.

i think 3600. the engine is off of a snowblower but i've never actually measured the rpm

I'm at 6:19 seconds... you mentioned 15 gallons of oil. I hope you are including a method of self propulsion.
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades 2 года назад
Yeah, it is a little heavy. I can actually put 20 gal oil in the tank but for my uses, 15 gal should do.

Just curious, being new to hydraulics. Do you actually need anywhere close to 15g? I would think you would need enough to fill the system, with an extra gallon or two? Or is this to somehow keep the fluid cooler, heat sink effect?
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades 2 года назад
I don't think I need that much. I just figured it would help with the cooling but temperature hasn't been an issue tbh.
@Dadnatron

Why didn’t you place the pump below the oil level, thereby always ensuring oil in the pump preventing potential loss of prime? All ‘commercial’ power-pacs I’ve seen have the pump inlet below the low oil level in the tank... usually below the entire tank. Certainly it might have made the footprint slightly larger, but maybe not with a little different engineering.
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades 4 года назад
Because the engine is a horizontal shaft.

Is there a reason you did not use the hydraulics on the Kubota tractor ?
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades 4 года назад
Yes, I do not have the 3rd function on my kubota and I also wanted to have the option of powering my shop press and the wood splitter.

@CapeCodCNC
@CapeCodCNC 4 года назад
Are you going with a front bucket mount or 3 point hitch post hole digger setup?
@danharold3087
@danharold3087 4 года назад
I have an older BX and the 3 point does not lift enough to easily use a PHD. Even worse a 3 pt does not push down. A loader mount is often the better option.
@ChrisOfAllTrades
@ChrisOfAllTrades 4 года назад
I'm going to design it with the skidsteer quick attachment style so I can disconnect the front bucket and hook up the post hole auger in its place. That way I have the pull up as well as push down option whereas with the 3pt hitch I would not have any downward force.
