My cannon 745,746 printer head had little clog it was completely clogged by only using alcahole. I am amused it cloged the catridge and damaged it withi seconds. Now the catridge doesnt recognize, I thin the alcahole reacted with plastic ande electrical components and ruined it. Now I remeber the fact why alcahole is not used 100percent in normal gasoline vehicles due to its corrossive property. I dont have any idea about amonia I had heard that its used in inks etc.
That was a great idea to show everyone to check for gelling or clotting before you use the cleaner on your print head. By the way, I once tried soaking just the print head of a standard print cartridge in ammonia overnight. The next morning, all the metal contacts on the cartridge had turned green from corrosion. So don't do that!
