Thank you for encouraging curly girls to wear their natural hair on their wedding day/to weddings. I can’t tell you how many times people would say “are you going to straighten your hair to make it more special?” Like natural curls aren’t special or formal enough! Obviously, every woman should wear what makes them feel most beautiful but it’s so wonderful hearing people like you encourage curly girls to embrace their gorgeous natural curls 🥰
Don't people curl their hair for something special? Besides I think curly hair look stunning and I'd assume people would want to look like themselves on their wedding day no?
@@blobster91 people definitely curl their hair for special occasions but natural curls aren’t usually “sleek” and polished the same as curling iron curls. Most curly girls have some functional frizz and multiple curl patterns. I know personally, I was always told it would look better if I blew it out or curled it with a curling iron to make it smoother but I just never felt like myself. It was tough hearing that my natural curls that made me feel like myself weren’t “formal hair” at prom, my wedding, as a bridesmaid (which I wore my natural hair to all of those anyway 😉) I appreciate you saying naturally curly hair is stunning and worthy of special occasions! Need more people like you!
I’m a professional wedding hair and makeup artist and I ALWAYS encourage girls to use their natural texture. It gives the most beautiful movement to a bun or half up style that I cannot create with a curling iron without spending HOURS. Some of my most liked pictures on my Instagram is hair styles with natural texture
@@hayleykesler I love this!!! It seems small but having someone encourage your natural hair texture is seriously empowering. I’m so glad there are hair artists like you!
Am I getting married? No Do I have a boyfriend? No Am I watching this cause I love all thing Kayley Melissa? Yes. Also I just felt so loved and taken care of
Kayley! Could you show us some half down styles that can easily be converted to an updo? I want my natural waves down for the Church ceremony, but I'm a big dancer and need them up later for the reception! Help!
I did my wedding hair last summer and followed one of your tutorials from years ago. It went so well, I’m so glad I didn’t pay out on someone doing it for me because I know my hair best.
I love how accessible you make hairstyling! And especially the tips to make it work with whatever your personal style is, it makes all your videos useful for anyone :D
Idk what it is, maybe the makeup or the more high lighted extensions, but my eyes can't stop looking at Kayley. You are looking so stunning in this video, idk what you are doing but definitely keep at it 😍
People who have their hair styled by you are so lucky. You're so knowledgeable and supportive about people looking and feeling their best. I'm getting married this year and will keep some of these tips in mind!
I would have loved this video for when I got married in October. My hair was done by my step mom, who I love dearly, but it didn't come out how I envisioned with my natural curls. Good thing I'll be having a reception next year and can have a style that's a bit more put together and most importantly me. Thanks Kayley!
As a professional wedding hair and makeup artist, the first two styles are versions of my go tos. I always, always get the most compliments on twisted half up tos without any braids. I push for the ponytail style a lot, people ALWAYS gush over it. Genuinely the only thing I do differently is more sections, more twists and texturizing spray to make the twists thicker since I’m using more sections. These styles are the exact same vibe though. This tutorial is beautiful; it’s terrifying for someone making a living off these secrets 😂
I had my cousin curl my hair to look like my natural hair but perfected, a side part, then loose twists on either side back into a textured curly bun. Then I had a string of white roses and pearls that I wore like a crown and tied in the back to flow over the veil. I was totally going for Belle vibes and had a blush dress/veil, but sadly I wasn’t able to make my sleeves in time! Still, it’s the most beautiful I’ve felt. Totally recommend DIY weddings on the styling.
Omg I’m so excited for this! I’m such a perfectionist I know I’ll be wanting to either do my own completely, or know how to fix it if it gets messed up!!
I'm a wedding photographer and one of my brides did a super slicked back high ponytail (think Blake Lively on the red carpet) and it was SO GOOD! Nothing like a traditional wedding hairstyle but she looked incredible and so chic.
Haha, I have been taking the hints of looking back at my own pictures and I noticed I always have sunglasses on top of my head in my favorite ones XD. Guess no veil but sunglasses for me...beach wedding it is!!! I know a sensible person would say to swap out the glasses for a tiara or something like it...but beach wedding with sunglasses just sounds more fun!!!
Kayley!!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I'm literally getting married next week (minimal relaxed pandemic wedding) and I was scrolling like crazy through your channel for inspo and tecniques to donmy own hair. Thank you so much for this surprise wedding present!
I actually live for Saturday mornings (NZ time) when KM videos drop. 🔥🔥I'd love a video canvassing different brands (and types) of hair extensions (e.g. I've been looking into Sitting Pretty halo because it's supposed to cause less damage). Maybe you could do a similar format to rice water/function of beauty where you look into how hair extensions are made/sourced and ethical brands??
Thank you! I'm getting married tomorrow (super simple zoom wedding lol) . I of course left thinking about my hair to the last second. Your tips are really helpful to someone like me who knows nothing about hair! I feel more confident now!!
This video is very useful! I do think that there are even more things to talk about. For example, options for keeping hair short for a wedding and hairstyles for that. Hairstyles that look good with veils
Do you have an Amazon page with all your favorite accessories and other “must haves”? If not I think it’d be great if you could create one, that way you can link your page instead of all the individual items! 🥰
Yes 🙌🏼 thank you planning on doing a diy wedding hair on myself and bridesmaids this year so this has massively helped support my endeavour thank you ☺️
Well because of Covid we hit the reset and our wedding has been postponed another year...that being said we are so excited to actually start getting excited about planning for real this time! Thank you for the hair style tips!
Ahhh this was lovely and whimsical and dreamy. 😍 Thanks for the video! Already married but still gonna find an excuse to get dressed up and use these tips. They were great! Where were you for my wedding? 😅
Looooive Kayley's work. She has the most gorgeous hair tutorials on her channel. The only thing that bothers me is she seems to classify all fine hair as thin and all coarse hair as thick. But I'm both 😩 I have fine hair, but I have a lot of it so it's still really thick. So I don't know which of her tips to follow. The fine hair ones or the thick hair ones
I'm old enough to be your mom, am married for years. . .and watching this. Why? You always have interesting nuggets. Like -- you're the first person I've ever heard utter my personal experience: "for whatever reason, curl resistant hair seems to remember what you did with it when it was wet." So true. And my hair resents flat irons, which I never use to straighten my lazy wavy hair, and remembers that it was put between two hot, flat plates to create waves and will fall into nearly stick straight hair.
Your videos always seem to be perfectly timed to when I need them 😅 I’m not getting married anytime soon (singles club raise your hands!), BUT I am a bridesmaid in a friends wedding in a few months and was about to start looking at what kind of hair style I wanted to do, like literally was gonna go look up online and through your videos for hairstyle tips and inspiration. So happy I watched! You’ve given me a bunch of ideas!!!
I'm at the kinda awkward age of late twenties, in a long-term relationship (we've talked about it, probably next year), everyone keeps asking (including the ad algorithms) when I'm getting married so no matter what, this is super interesting for me because I keep thinking about what I'll want to wear and look like. Great tips about how to keep it "me" at the same time as feeling a bit special. ❤️ Excellent video, thank you, I'll definitely revisit it!
Loved how informative this video was! It was so different seeing you with long hair again! I really liked the gold leaf hair accessories you showed toward the end of the video! (:
Aw man I wish I had this video when I got married in September. I got lucky and found someone last minute to do my hair. It was a struggle. We did a hair vine and I ordered a jeweled silver vine from Amazon to have her put in it. I love all these looks so much 💗
Thank you very much for the accessories guide, I really need help in that department (that sounds too dramatic for hair, but you know what I mean) so feel super free to keep it coming!☺️
Did my own hair and makeup for my wedding and even my family thought I had it professionally done. I look back on the portraits from that day and I'm still impressed with how timeless and flattering the style I created looked on me. It was simple, yet elegant and fun. It also balanced my wedding gown perfectly. So many brides do not take their gowns into consideration and can either look like a lollipop or a triangle if they don't balance their hair volume to their gown.
Thank you for the encouragement!! I really want to diy my own wedding hair and this helped solidify that decision! If you read this comment I would love to know your thoughts on halo hair extensions please ☺️ Yay or nay or pros and cons? Love your work! Long time watcher! ❤️❤️
my sister just texted me "I need help figuring out my wedding hair" and I sent this to her faster than I've ever sent any link ever so thank you hahaha
Can you please do an extensions video on how to do a ponytail or updo with them?! Also, my extensions are a bit darker than my hair now that I've gone through becoming a mama, any tips on how to make them work? Or do I need to suck it up and spend the money?
Soooo... can my husband and I get married again, just so I can hire you to come to Canada to do my wedding hair? Mine was a disaster, and I'm not confident in doing mine myself because I can barely do a basic bun myself.
Can you do a video with AnaLaura’s natural hair with a formal hairstyle. Maybe include how to use extensions with your natural pattern, style ideas, how to enchanted natural textures. I have wavy/curly hair but always have this couple pieces that don’t corporate.
I absolutely LOVE the way low buns/ponytails look on me, (day to day) especially with my curtain bangs, but I CANNOT get them to stay in, with any amount of curl or bobby pins!!
Yes to doing you! I regret my 2005 prom-esque wedding hair. I should have left it down, or done a half-updo. My hair isn't even visible in 90% of my photos.
coming back to this video because my friend just announced she's going ahead with her wedding so I actually get to do (bridesmaid) wedding hair for the first time in ages lol
Do you have any tips for keeping hair accessories in place? I’ve been practicing doing my own hair and love the half up look you do. When I put the accessories on I’m not confident they’re going to stay put on wedding day! Any tips appreciated! Thanks!!
Think accessories work in fine, shoulder length hair? I'm thinking of straightening mine for my wedding in October, since it's already difficult to curl and nobody in my family or friend group is an expert or hair enthusiast! I kind of like the idea of stars, since we're doing a dungeons and dragons/enchanted forest theme.
That hairstyles was amazing, so pretty ❤️.... I love to try different and difficult hairstyles and I love your channel and I have got so much help from your videos 😄 but I am still not good at curling I can do just the basic one's, whenever I watch your curling videos I think that "this is so easy" but when I try it it feels impossible to me🥺... So can you please make a video on tutorial of different types of curls and waves by easy ways and with tips and tricks, please 🥺❣️
I'm suprised to see the dyson airwrap as it got slated in Kayley's review. One of the main reasons I didn't take the plunge and buy it. That and the curls look a bit old lady. Wonder if there will be an update soon.
Can you rank your hot tools? I just watched one of your older videos that mentioned the conair cool air styler and I am thinking about buying the Dyson air wrap and am interested in a comparison, pros/cons, worth the price?, etc love your content!
Kayley, I have 3a size curls (waves), but in a natural deepwave pattern the color red of Nicole Kidman’s hair in Moulin Rouge. Is there no hope of me using extensions? I’ve never seen any that seemed like they would fit, but I want to try them sooo badly. I love these hairstyles, especially the bridal pony! Thanks for another great video ☺️
hi, if you can't find your hair colour in extensions, you could try getting a blonde set dyed to match your hair colour, and then curl them separately to match your waves :)
