"everything he wanted" you saw the kids room? I dont see it full of toys. Of course the kid will have the house full of electronics because they are basically free, but i bet my ass that they will not let them abuse it.
And judging from what it seems, i can't say that it's spoiling his kids at all, it's the same as giving your kids a pencil, something crafted and invented some time ago, and would have been the bees knees, but like now, that Pencil is easy to get and easy to access, TVs are a little iffy but almost everyone knows where a TV can be bought accessibly and conveniently, same with now but in Linus' kids' case, it's a Mini Home Theater, a.k.a something that displays entertainment, basically having a TV in the kid's room except 40 years better.
In the end, the kids got something that they will use for a few years & its better for their eyes than any other electronics + his dad gets money from this. Perfect, right?
Let's not kid ourselves. This project was for that sweet LG cash. I guess different people have different feelings about letting kids watch TV in their room all day. The screen set up is not very kid friendly looking. I wonder if his kids will be geeks too. I can imagine needing to have space from that world growing up with linus.
Linus i understand that this video was sponsored and all but that god damn thing cost 1500$ Thats a thick pile of money i got to spent on that thing. :)
Wow this contest is just what I need! With the Geocaching International Film Festival coming up, a new projector would be a godsend! Right now we lug a 45 lb, vga port, maximum 480i resolution, theater grade projector(from the early 2000's, it played the theater pre-show) around to host this event. Plus I already have a shelf over my bed to make my own bedroom theater XD
Hey Linus where are the 3 PC's that use different fan configurations (3 intake, no outtake, 2 intake 2 outtake and so on)??? I believe it's been well over a year???
Its only been 9ish months from what I remember, And you also have to take into account the lag time between research completion (end of a year) and the actual video being made, its not as simple as "Hur dur, the computers have finished sucking up dust, now we just make a vid and its done within an exact year!:DDD", I'd wager there are significant production processes that the video itself will have to go through before it can even be considered for release.
The dust video? I kind of have a feeling those would take longer than expected. They were just put behind a wall and ran, so i can imagine they might not remember to turn them back on after a power outage. so that "year" of being on might take longer than a year. I am also waiting for the results
Idk, chances are Linus knows how to configure parental controls on all the devices they own. Router cuts them off at 9PM and so on... What's the point of that sweet 4K gaming set up if you can't raid til 1AM on a school night.
Ajay Kumar does he actually drive it? I probably drives one of those other 2 cars in his driveway I remember seeing the video awhile ago. I thought they did that because they was going to send it to the scrap yard or something
Having done multiple DIY home theatre projector setups in my life, I have to ask, why would he not just ceiling mount it? Run the cords down the wall, and no danger of his kids banging their heads on a shelf, and knocking the projector off... I liked the roller blind screen though.
I love how while i am asking to play video games because my dad wants me to play sports, your son is asking to play hockey because you want him to play video games. Funny, that.
over00lord Unknown isn't that something you would do alone (and when you are certain you won't be interrupted) if at all? I'd guess the inhibition threshold would be pretty high especially when the kids are not the same gender.
I have watched porn on a projector and it really isn't that amazing. Also, wtf are talking about dude? How does a projector in a little kids room = porn? Ffs
So his kid is using a better pc for a projector than I am for my gaming desktop. Complaints aside linus, i'd get a right angle power lead for that projector so it sits back a little more and doesn't stress that plug/socket in the projector.
Because it is essential to a have 32 GB of RAM and a 950 PRO M.2 SSD for the kids' home theater system.... -,- But hey... Nice commercial dude! Can we please get a review of this guy later on? I want to know: - How does the image quality stack up to competition (sharpness, brightness, contrast, color accuracy etc)? - is it 60hz? - what is the input lag? Can you game on it?
Safety first...sharp corners on the shelf should be rounded or at least have corner protectors (children's eyes are more valuable than any tech). Cable management, at least buy longer cables and run them flush against the wall (a child's dent free head is more valuable than any tech). Secure the projector to the shelf. How much heat and noise does the projector give off? Ice pack and ear protection required?
I was going to say screw it into a stud for fuck's sake. I wouldn't trust that above a sleeping kid. In the end he might have, but knowing linus... probably not.
They'll be fine. I was learning to solder not much older than them. No heat protection on my hands holding an iron that got 200-1000F depending on what you needed. Pretty sure the Oxygen-Acetylene torch I used got significantly hotter than that. Get them started early and they will not turn out a clumsy as Linus.
Who thinks Linus should get a new car? It’s still pink from that one video I think he should get a truck so when he haul some things around the warehouse and hauling PC parts if he needs it
Let's face it, the cars that never get stolen are the rusty ones and the one that Linus sports. The rusty ones are crap everywhere, the pink one only on the outside until it becomes rusted enough.
Liam night if the bread was huge then I guess you could say that. But it has so be the width of the planet If it's not then no. It will be like putting meat between 2 bead crumbs and calling it a sandwich
Plot twist: Linus is a deranged psychopath who broke into a family's home and is now holding everyone in the house hostage to make a video where it's not just him and his computer-generated co-workers to make people think he's not crazy.
