I'm sure the wire is too keep the arch shape in each cord so they don't slowly pull at the single thread that she sews it with. I would say it's important. But Floral wire is cheap and easy to find in the floral section of a craft store or on Amazon. It's handy for a ton of stuff.

Thank you! 😊 I have had that yarn for several years and I originally got it at Hobby Lobby- it’s their “I Love This Yarn” acrylic. I was using up my stash, lol
I sewed it together instead mostly because I’m terrible with a hot glue gun and I didn’t want glue strings all over the place! If you prefer using hot glue it would probably work fine too.
