DIY - Replace Front Grill on 2012VW Tiguan

You are right . The grill is inserted into the front bumper. Few locking tabs from the bumper that you can push it down while remove the grill . Install by insert new grill back into those bumper tabs. This grill removal and reinstall can only be done with the bumper off the car. Emblem also held by the grill moulded plastic tabs . Gently open one tab at the time while pulling the emblem off the grill. Good luck and thanks for posting your comment here.

@@maniata8869 Thank you for your reply. I presume the emblem tabs are accessible from the back only, right? I couldn't find any information about it on the whole web... Also, it does not twist off like on other VW models, correct?

I have no idea what is T ROC grille is. Tiguan is the only VW grill I have ever done. Sorry that I can’t help.

@@maniata8869 is it absolutely necessary to remove the whole bumper?

Yes. Bumper must be removed . I have tried to do without it but it is impossible to get access around the lights .
