DS has a pen box already ready to make. it doesnt have a window,but you can add that if you'd like, Or you can add a picture/ design to the outside instead.

Your tutorial was great, since you made the window for the visual of the pen, it would weaken the sturdiness of the box and could easily collapse in shipping, an added step coule be to cut a piece of the acetate and glue it to the window panel of the box to still have the window but to give it back the stability. Just a suggestion, still a great low cost packaging idea thank you.

I have watched your video countless times!! Following along trying to make this box but when I get to the slice part I can't slice.....HELP!!! Seems I am the only one having issues. Still new with design space,,,

Make sure you’re only selecting the two layers. Design space will not allow you to slice if you have more than two layers selected at a time

What do u use for the cricut make the score lines on the card stock when its cuting it

It’s the cricut double scoring wheel. Works for the cricut maker. If you have the cricut explorer they make a scoring pen that works in the machine.

Did u have to use print and cut in order to get the template cut out? I do not own a printer is there a way u can maybe do a tutorial on how u cut it with the machine

No you just cut it on whatever colored card stock you would like! No printing needed unless you want to customize it with your logo or a design. If I have time tomorrow I can try to get that up for you! If it’s asking you to print it, you have to go back and up top on the left where it says print, change it to cut. And then I just send it to my machine and cut it on medium card stock for my 65lb card stock, if that helps!

I pretty much followed the whole way.. When i went to cut on my cricut it didnt do the score lines? What cld i have missed? Help me please. Great video and thank you for sharing..

I ah e been able to follow all the steps except the slicing on making the window. I don’t get it. Any trouble shoot ideas for this? All other slicing worked

You have to make sure the whole box part is welded together first and then you make the window shape. Align it where you want the hole to be on the box part and make sure you have just the box part and window part selected and slice. You can’t have more than 3 items selected at a time or it won’t work, so make sure you’re not selecting the score lines with it

I use a cricut maker and it doesn’t ask me for any settings. I just make the score lines and it automatically does it for me.

I followed your tutorial, which was excellent! It came out great except one issue. It cut out one fold on the top of the box. I will add a pic if I can. I am not sure what happened?

lol yes cricut has just been a mess lately. Not too sure if you’ve done this, but if you click the menu button on the left and then click on settings, under canvas style, change it from “New” to “Classic” and it’s not as glitchy.

Holy heck I wish your mouse were highlighted! It's small and moves too fast for my old eyes. I get lost after the slice and then contour. For the life of me I cannot find contour.

I’m sorry I will try to figure out how to do that for future videos. And the contour you have to make sure you have the layer selected and then it’ll be on the bottom right of your screen

Thank you so much for this video tutorial. It was exactly what I was looking for and you explained everything so well. I just purchased my spinner today and some items from dollar tree to adapt it for pens. I just need the pins, epoxy and glitter. I’m also glad that you included the option for adding a window. I probably would only make the window about an inch and a half long. The rest of the pin would have to be a surprise LOL!! Thank you again!!💟💟💟.
