If you use a Schedule 40 PVC pipe with a 2-1/2" diameter, you can use McMaster-Carr's Sleeve Bearings for Conveyor Rollers. They are made to accept a 1-1/2" shaft (or roller handle in this scenario) and are made to fit the Schedule 40 piping. They also sell aluminum rods and tubes, but you might have to order them at 3 feet long and cut to size.
This was interesting for me. And it was RU-vid AI noticing my particular interest for printing ink rollers. I am in a place where nobody seems to miss hand operated ink rollers. I noticed this and therefore decided to have some build instead of importing them. Once I get my first rollers done I will upload a video to show them, too. Thank you for your presentation!
I found the video production, focus, and sound quality lacking here, to the point that it was hard to hear and watch. I am interested in making printmaking rollers larger than typical brayers. It would be helpful to have a clearer demonstration.
