Thank you!!! Worked for a 2016 mdx. The only extra step i had to do was to drill a hole on the 17 1/2 inch strip so that the cover could clip into the socket.

Thank you very much! Very useful video. After watching it, it was straight forward processed, however, it took me about 2 hours to install both rails and crossbars. The most difficult part was to remove white plastic clips without breaking them, broke 3 of them. Great that my roof rails came with 6 spare clips for that black rear plastic piece. Definitely worth doing it yourself. My dealer quoted $258 for the installation. I appreciate your tips and tricks.

Thanks for the very helpful video! Made the install very easy. First side took 30 min and second 15. I also used a plastic wall anchor as the spacer (part 2 of your install video) to support the front piece and it worked perfectly.

Oh man I'm so thankful for this video. Bought a cpo 18 advance with chrome rails and the rear on driver side has a little play. I was worried it mounted from underside but so happy to see I can tighten the nuts/bolts. Awesome!

The best starting place to remove the roof molding without using tools is right at end of roof molding, next to TAILGATE. It took less than a minute to remove it on my 2018 MDX. Thanks a lot for the video.

Very helpful video. After viewing this, the first rail took about a half hour. The second took 15 mins. The only weird part that came with the kit were the two screws to further secure the plastic chrome cover. The screws were not metric and I needed to use an imperial sized allen wrench to fasten. It was also a little tough to start the nuts due to the bolts being painted when the MDX was made. If I remember correctly, the roof rack I installed on my 2012 MDX was aluminum. $400+ for my new 2019 MDX roof racks having all plastic parts seems like a total rip off.

Very helpful. Put it together pretty quickly. Also, ordered the side rails and cross members on Amazon and bought a roof carrier cheaper than ONLY the side rails in Canada!

Super helpful, thank you. I would recommend adding in the notes to cut the trim exactly as the instructions say. If you leave it even a little too long, it gets pushed up by trim where it has an angled area where they can bump into each other. -- For viewers, this is the issue covered in Part 2 of this video.

Thanks for the vid. I just installed the rails on my brand new 2019 MDX and it look great. I used your vid as the instructions. The only issue I ran into that you did not is that the bolts I received did not property fit the screws so it was a hassle to bolt the rails to the roof.

NIce vid. I really appreciate how clear and easy to follow it is. I did find that the plastic clips on the hinge cover broke but when I was prying them off, however, the roof rack kit comes with 6 new ones. I also cut the roof molding at 17". It's metal underneath so there's no deflection. Thanks!

Thanks for the video you saved me big time! Edit for the new roof rail kits that ship have new white clips for rear roof rail panel you can just pop of the old ones that usually break click on your new ones and click the whole thing on i broke a bolt off when tightening a nut be aware of over tightening seems like an Acura fault though, still works great

Anyone installing on 2020...watch out with the screw.. Bolt studs are painted... So you will have hard time screwing down... Its a pain in the butt!!! .... Careful you dont cross thred....if you have same issues... Dont force it... Yiu will break the bolt stud!!! I broke. 2... Tighten little and untighten....repeat this. This over and over until bolts are tighten all the way down... Or find a way to remove the paint from the bolt stud...

Wow! I just called acura and they quoted me 2 thousand dollars I was shocked! Also another thousand just for foglights on a 2020 tech!

Hi. Thanks for your video. I need your advice. I have Acura MDX 2017 with integrated rails and auto box Thule dynamic 900. On the Akura MDX, only regular holes are provided for attaching the cross members to the rails. I'm afraid that this distance is too small for such a big box. I watched a lot of your videos. I understand that you are well acquainted with the question. Perhaps you could suggest me what is best done in this situation. Is it possible to make new holes in the rails? As i understood i have two options: 1. The easiest is to move the box back. In this position, he stands on the shaky crossbars. But at the same time, the trunk will not open to the end. Did anyone buy cheaper versions on ebay or Amazon? The ones on amazon are listed at $430 and another 175 for the crossbars. I am trying to see if I can find a cheaper alternative.

This mod is crap (carmaker's design). I cannot believe that the car company makes you have to cut so much! Man, they really want to save $$ by not including the rails to begin with... My minivan only needed the cross braces to be added...
