This is how I built my mini septic system for my Rv/Motorhome. The cost was right around $375.00 for all the parts pieces, barrels and excavator. You can do this yourself and save a bundle
Great job sir. On my end, the guy helping me out went to an RV store and purchased a coupler to go from RV to PVC so now I have PVC all the way to septic. The only draw back is if I disconnect to travel It takes a bit to reposition the RV when returning, as there is little flex in PVC. Great vid!
Three questions: You didn't have to add a vent pipe for air (I'm thinking the average septic system doesn't use that anyway)? What did you use to seal the PVC to the metal barrel? How often is that RV used, as that would determine how big a septic system? Thx! Ron from Nashville.
Great video.. I am contemplating doing something similar on my property. given the size of the barrels, how long to you think you can dump into them until you have to have them professionally emptied? Also, did you require a permit to do this?
Well the first barrel holds the solids, solids fall to the bottom, the second barrel contains a watery mix when that barrel fills then it exits to the field line. With a signal barrel your field line will clog with solids. It’s gross but that’s the process
So the system I installed has been working great. No trouble. I did put a package of septic formula that charges the tanks with bacteria that breaks down the solids
The barrels held paint in them a one time, The inside had some kind of coating plus the outside also had been painted as well. At some point they will rust out but not in my life time perhaps two. Good question, the answer is I have no idea.
As far as the vinyl floors go, I could not be happier on how they turned out and stood up to travel. I took the coach up to Ohio to play a concert with Barren Cross. The floors did great and held up very well. It was a 6 hour journey each way and some of the roads were horrible. The floors stayed put.
What to do if ground is all caliche. County says law passed 20 years ago is mandatory, we have a house septic for 6 people county says can't patch into it. Help.
