My RV's table top laminate was beginning to peel off so I wanted to update and renovate the look. I used CDs that I cut up with epoxy to make this beautiful, stunning and unique table top.

I also have been living in my 30 foot Fleetwood RV for the past 8 YEARS! rent averages $2.00 sq ft where I live so I've been saving and bought a couple of acres about 10 miles from the city last year and drilled a water well in July and I'm taking two months off work from mid October till 1st of January 2017 to build a 1000 sqft Cabin/ House by myself. very excited! Im a full time Carpenter so I kinda know what I'm doing. I totally relate to RV Living and what I might do with my RV when I'm done with the Cabin.

The table turned out beautiful and your enthusiasm is keeps me watching. The comments here criticizing Pippi on how long the video is based on her describing while working is unnecessary. If you feel the need to skip through the video for your own reasons just do so and let it be. There are too many unpleasant people in our daily lives as it is so when we can watch and listen to someone so upbeat and happy in their conversation just listen and enjoy. I'm sure most of us do.

I don't even know how this popped up on my RU-vid but I watched the entire video and I absolutely love it! thanks for the great tips with the instruction. one question though how would you possibly be able to clean it without it eventually getting really scratched? since a kitchen table is wiped so frequently?
@PippiPeterson
@PippiPeterson 8 лет назад
Hi Kathi, thanks so much for watching! Actually it wipes incredibly easy. I've even used the scruffy side of a sponge but I try to stick to the softer side in case it is scratching. But it and the penny countertop I did are holding up magnificently :D

Thank you for sharing this project with us. I like that you explain why you are doing different things and didn’t edit out the part where the color you chose didn’t work and you had to redo it. Please ignore the rather rude and negative comments from those who obviously are of a lower intellect and don’t appreciate the instructions and why you need to do certain things. It’s the same reason why men don’t ask for directions when lost or why they don’t read the directions on how to put things together or setup electronic devices when first purchased.

I just have to say that I have gone thru 6 sets of that "Exact" brand, and I LOVE that stuff!! I think I have glossed up absolutlly EVERYTHING with a flat surface in my house, sisters house, neabors house, friends houses, LOVE THAT STUFF!! It is kind-o expensive around here, and takes SOOOOOO LONG to dry, but worth every "Penny" HA!! Anyway , Super glad I saw your vid, cause That Table Is F#@$in Awsome, You Did that Perfect, Great Job!! The penny countertop, Way cool also, but the cds came out Bea-Utiful!! Thank You So Much for sharing! Now I got to get my 7th set of those bottles, and another untouched flat surface, 40,000 CDs, and go to work..... Oh, did you have to plan those cuts, or glue any pieces down before you poured, because the spacing you got was perfect? I just realized I typed a novel, and You probably wont even see this question....Oh well hope You do.. It was fun anyway.. P.S. --- Cool Dog Pippi, Cool name too... Friends call me Chollo, Anyway , Thanks A Lot, and keep it up.. Stay Smilin and Keep Happy cause Your Awsome!! Too bad I couldn't do that to my truck....WOOO That'd be Loud!! Put the Shades On!! LATER!

Pippi Peterson and also what brand of tape for the edges? It look like the tape you have has paper that peels off the back... is that right? Also where did you buy the CD's? I only ask because I've been looking the past two days but I can't see the bottom of the CD in any packs that find :(

I love it. I'm farmhouse- modern farmhouse cottage inspired style. But I've seen other people do this and I love how yours came out. Kinda looks likes the ocean and all the colors that are mixed in below. Like the blues, and the coral reefs, and the colorful fish. It really is beautiful fits your beach theme, you have. I love that you live in an Rv. No debt. You have a beautiful dog. I'm pretty sure the rest of your space is just as beautiful!!! You could add some turquoise accents. Even fabric paint if you wanted to do your seating behind you. I actually like the chocolate/ light brown seating that you are sitting at. Would love to see the rest of your rv. I live in a manufactured home. For some reason, the newer models of mobile homes are called that. Double storm pain windows. 2 yrs left and I'm pd off.... then I'm looking for land in the process, taking my time to really really love the property. Maybe a half of an acre or a quarter. But we are either gonna build on to what we have and make it look like a home or buy a bigger one and put a porch at least half the length of the mobile home. We need new carpet for the whole living room and a completely remodeled kitchen, but I know we can do it. We went from a 2,000 Sq foot home to a little over a thousand and I still have all my things I had in my home. 1st, I need to sell a lot of things so we can have minimal amount of things. So we dnt feel so cluttered and less cleaning, YES! Then organize what we do have. And my colors will be Grey's, and white or off white. With white cabinets or a dark grey with white mixed in on the top. (Shanty2chic, ref: Ashley's kitchen look with the cabinets.... and her whole kitchen theme she has. If you have great cabinetry and countertops And a nice sink. then you can get the look you want, and even change it up When you want with little or no money. Ty for sharing the process of your new up cycled table. You did a great job. Love it!!!! I've subscribed to your channel. So I hope to see more. Love it. Love you.... best of luck....

I bet the famous Pippi Peterson RV would fetch a tidy sum if ever auctioned!! What a conversation piece, plus all the vids of things you've done to it.

That's awesome!. Thanks for sharing this video and for sharing the materials you used. I want to do an entire floor like this so I went searching for videos on it except I want entire cds for that late 80s/early 90s feel. Every disc I ever burned that had an error I saved from a landfill with the idea to do something with them some day and this is perfect. I loved how you explained everything in the video without over complicated instructions. Thanks for being the guinea pig for this experiment. I needed to see someone else do a nice job on something like a table before I take on a whole floor. Thanks again.

Beautiful table! I have CD's hung in my music studio west facing window. I Strung them up with fishing line from the curtain rod at different lengths of line. Gentle air movement makes little rainbows all over the room!

This is original and very lovely! You are such a cutie too, Pippi! I love your enthusiasm and smiley face, and the way you dive into projects body and soul. That is a true artist! This table looks splendid!!!! I must copy it for my garden patio. I wonder though if you should have used a hair dryer over a propane torch. That looked a bit dangerous. Keep making your creative projects, as we all benefit from your artistic talents! With regard to the edging, you can get the vintage aluminum table edge banding or something modern. I would put an aluminum edge on it to give it a nice finished look.

Yes a a hair dryer would be better. I just didn’t have one. Either that or a heat gun would also serve.

@@PippiPeterson Since you do a lot of project, why not invest in a $22 Wagner Heat Gun from Home Depot? Very useful for all sorts of work. A hair dryer is not useful in projects, only on hair. The heat gun delivers a lot of controlled heat without any wind. The flame torch can be very dangerous and best used in open air.

I think even if the video looks really low budget it the best epoxy video I seen because all of other videos goes straight to the point and sometimes times they leave small details out .. and after all 90% of us is based on low budget to so I think this will be the best example ..

It looks awesome! So gorgeous. I loved the glow you showed on the ceiling. You look like a mermaid in your ocean cove - like those blue coves near Capri that radiate those same colors. Very inspiriational.

My name is Don and I just want to say, You are so adorable! You apparent lack of knowledge but absolute enthusiasm to do your project and learn along the way is truly inspiring! I want to say I have shown your video to my daughter who constantly doubts herself, you are helping more than just those people who want to learn to do projects around their homes. You are helping tons of people who doubt themselves especially young girls and women who think they can't or who struggle with thinking that they aren't able to do things. In fact You are helping me to come up with ideas to show people that they CAN do anything if they only put their mind to it. Thank You Very Much. If you ever do another epoxy project one thing that helps with the bubbles is a hair dryer and also a heat gun. Keep up the great work.
