Nice job. The frayed edges make them look good. Been doing the same thing for years re-using heavier clothing tags made of cloth. They are made of a stiff canvas sort from an old pair of shorts. The stylish marketing ones that come tagged onto the clothing. They hold up well when cut into small stripes. Then I use wire or a staple.
@MMScaleModels
@MMScaleModels 4 года назад
Thanks, I have tried that myself, however I cannot cut the tag so that the edge stays neat. I always get fibres sticking out. Any suggestions on that matter?

Yeah, I know the feeling... 1/48 is a tricky scale... Looks big enough but later most of the job is invisible. I use regular CA glue in the video... Sometimes I use the gel type which sets significantly slower.

Seems to me that these techniques can be used for any scale that good eyesight and magnification lets you see. I've used the masking tape approach for 1/72 semi-successfully, but I'll be trying again soon with MM Scale Models' steps.
@MMScaleModels
@MMScaleModels 4 года назад
That was 1/48th scale... For 1/72 it might be an overkill... For larger than 1/48 you might want to add more details.

Hey there. Happy I found your channel. Quick question.: Any tips on getting the shoulder belts (teh buckle and the center beam) cleanly glued together. That center beam is killing me. third attempt at this and out of 30 buckles, not one we usable for the model; most of the center beams break off the buckle when trying thread through or the buckle becomes clogged with super glue. Help!!!!
@MMScaleModels
@MMScaleModels Год назад
Hey, I would suggest using CA glue activator on the beam and very small amount of glue on the buckle. You have only one attempt at assembling them correctly but it is the cleanest joint.
