Hi Wendy, I watched your video and think it’s the best tutorial for this sweater so far! When I watched it I had already started one, but then it ended up looking super awkward and now I want to do it again. So I was wondering if in the arms you crocheted in spiral? Or what tip do you have so the seam doesn’t show? Because also in my sweater in went diagonally as I increased stitches I hope you can help me cause I want to make it again, and want it to look good🥺
So when you start the sleeve make you chain a bit longer so it’ll be wider that just fitted around you wrist/forearm. Then slowly decrease stitches as you crochet up the sleeve
I tried my own version & didn't fit well.. will try yours, and thank you for your video, I also get confused with stitch names, they are different in uk/us patterns:)
I also started this project the other day! I started at the bust part though… I chained how much would fit around my bust and then started to double crochet. Once I finished the bust I noticed it shrinked heaps and doesn’t come close to fitting around my bust even though I measured the chain correctly !!! Do you have any tips or ideas on how to fit this 😭😭😭
Thank you so much for this vid!! When you are doing the green/ blue bit of the body are uou skipping one stitch as you are double crocheting or is it in every stitch? I cant quite see it! Thank you xx
I did double crochets into every stitch and didn’t do the chain after each double crochet like we did i the sleeves so it doesn’t have as big holes in it x
If you wanted to make a longer you should be able to just crochet more rows than I did, and if you wanted to make it wider you would do more chains to start off with so for example the sleeve I think I did 17 chains to start you can do a couple more to make it bigger
when you get to the shoulders and do two double crochets per row, do you crochet them on top of one another (rows) or disperse the two dcs around the shoulder?

yup sleeves but think ive got it, ive utilized crocheting many rows n then just pulling it all out if its weird looking. thanks so much for your help & the tutorial!!
hi i have a question, for the sleeves is it double crochet in the chain one space or double crochet in the previous double crochet chain one and then continue that?
Hey, I mostly used scrapes like leftovers from other projects so not too sure abt how many grams they were... to make an educated guess, I’d say 300-400 grams total x
Here it is it’s a bit more like instructions rather than a pattern cuz I don’t know all the stitch names... Chain 17 (or enough to wrap around your wrist/forearm) Dc into the first stitch of the first row then ch 1 and skip a stitch then repeat until the sleeve reaches your bicep Increase a couple of stitches if you need to fit your bicep/shoulder (see video) Continue with the dc chain dc and when your sleeve is long enough for your arm, crochet to half way of your sleeve then chain 1, turn your work and do dc chain dc until you reach the last stitch in this row. And chain 1 turn tour work repeat. Do this until you have 3 rows of crochet that is separated in the middle of the sleeve Then decrease a stitch in each of the next 3 rows on one end only Then do dc chain dc for 40 more rows or until it reaches your other shoulder. Increase a stitch in each of the next 3 rows Connect the 2 edges together by inserting your hook into the loop on the other piece pull up a loop yarn over and pull through all loops then continue with the dc chain dc decrease a couple of stitches Continue the sleeve with dc chain dc Body Make a chain of 52 (36cm) Dc into every single stitch of the chain and 3 rows of crochet at armpit bit on each side and the back bit of the sleeve I did that for 8 rows and changed colour then did 3 more rows Then I used dc chain dc method for 12 rows and finished off the top with 2 rows of dc chain dc. I hope this helped clear up some of the confusion. I will be making a more in depth tutorial just for the sleeve shoulder bit.
You can increase stitches by doing 2 double crochets from 1 loop on the previous row . This will make your sleeve wider. Then to make it smaller again, just do one double crochet per every 2 loops. Hope this makes sense:)
@@wendycrochetsyt won’t that change the pattern though!? Abs do you mean double crocheting in the same “bigger loop” in the pattern that we’ve been following
@@wendycrochetsyt i tried doing increases every 5th stitch or so, but they just looked like mistakes. I was thinking of starting over and doing bell sleeves instead, but then how would i decrease so that it goes big around the wrist and then tight around the rest of the arm? :)
Like when you crochet into every stitch from the previous row, instead of move onto the next loop to double crochet in, you do 2 double crochets from the same loop and then move onto the next one
Some of the yarn I used r from a brand named makr I got them from lincraft and others were thrifted so i don’t have the og label but another brand I used was Thorobred. Hope this helps!!
