Cora and Jose have a really unique dream and vision for their bus. They not only completely built out a Skoolie, they built it out with artists in mind. They are artists themselves and have a passion for sharing that love with others. They created a space where musicians, writers, photographers and multi-media artists can come and stay with them on their bus for periods of time, participating in the joys of traveling in the bus while doing what they love and making art. The music/art studio in the back is incredible and completely sound proof. They thought every single aspect of this build through and it shows. Amazing job you two and we can't wait to see what you continue to create in a tiny space!

Cora and Jose are incredible people! I love their drive, energy, motivation, and their willingness to spread positivity through The Arts. I met them at one of their first stops around Greenville S.C. I took my kids so they could see this amazing bus that they live on and also meet both of them. It was the best field trip we have taken by far! I’m so happy they are doing what they love.

What an artistic space with such lovely complementing colors. Interior space looks huge! 5:56 - I would love to know where you got those rotary hinges from? How are they holding up? With regard to your little potted garden, the dashboard may offer more light. You may need a food tray and some magnets. I also saw this van with a pallet shelving for plants on back! No problem with light outside. The bus exterior is lovely! So nice to see colors everywhere and not white, beige, black and neutral shades. This is so exciting and breath of fresh air. You both make a lovely couple, and your talents are boundless. Music, visual arts, travel, blogging, creative jobs, bus repairs and conversion, wow!! Very impressive. Hi! Thank you SO much for these beautiful words! So the hinges - they are swivel chair hinges that we got on Amazon, I believe (I can send the link if you like). They cost a grand total of $15 each. Much better than the $250 they charge you for a murphy bed kit! It's so great what you said about the plants, because I actually JUST put them out on the sill for their daily 'sunning'! 😀. They always look so happy all lined up like that. Jose was just saying how he wants to take a photograph of them like that to post on instagram, because it just invokes a feeling of happy calm 😊❤️ Sending abrazos from Nevada!

AWESOME A MUSICIAN SET UP!!! I want to do the nomadic life, and I’m trying to figure out how I can do this one day. * I am currently working on making a passive income from a dividend stock portfolio ....to fund living expenses .............I’ve also drawn many plans and designs for my home/mobile rig. (I’m leaning towards a cargo trailer type design .... however, I m not ruling out a bus or Box truck conversion. I’d just rather have my home be separate from vehicle in case of automotive troubles.... That way you can dock your home and wait for repairs..... I’d like to also have a back up vehicle like a moped along with my Mtn. Bike. Thanks for sharing your video .... like to know more about getting enough mobile power for recording studio. I’m a guitarist and would be doing composing with a DAW , MIDI Instruments, and guitars as a main hobby. .....Kayaking, Hiking, and Mtn Biking would also be needed to feel completely happy. Hey Corey! Awesome - love the sound of your vision. You're definitely thinking the right way with the extra vehicle plan. We just were given an old car and it is a GAME CHANGER. The mobility it provides (and time saved in not having to move the bus all the time) is just invaluable. So about power needs for the studio! Actually, it barely uses anything. I run ProTools on a Macbook Pro, using a Behringer interface powered by USB. My monitors are Mackie HR824 MK1s. I have a Yamaha keyboard that I run in for MIDI tracks. The monitors use barely ANYTHING, same for the keyboard. Seriously, they draw about as much power as the toilet fan. The big power sucker is the computer, but as long as I make sure it's charged up during the day when the sun is out, I can record 5-7 hours into the night without any issues.

Gorgeous couple, gorgeous bus. I totally agree with the principle of working on the frame and shell of the bus first. That's like the foundation of every build. And I understand the need for soundproofing the studio/bedroom, seeing that it is used for recording. Still I think it's a bit unfortunate that there are no windows there.

I'm curious as to the details of this build ie: who actually did the work, as this is obviously pro level cabinet and finishing work. There's no mention of credit to anyone...yet the build quality is FAR from amateur! Just curious what the process was... how many hours it took, and how much the build cost?

Hi Robert! So we did the build with help from family, most particularly my brother in law, Jairo, who is (you called it!) a master carpenter who specializes in cabinetry. The conversion took 9 months. Jose and I worked full time on it, with Jairo helping when he could after work. We also were SUPER lucky to have access to the right tools and carpentry know-how. Jose's uncle builds elevator interiors (CabCo Elevators) and the rest of his brothers work in carpentry, so if there was a tool we needed, we could snag it! A close family friend runs a cabinetry business (CD Designs) and they did the cabinet doors. Whenever people ask if we built the bus ourselves or it was done by a company, we always say "We did it with A LOT of help from family and friends, especially Jairo". The propane was done professionally, as well as the electrical. Jose did all the plumbing. The cost of the conversion was $28,793, which includes the $6500 bus. I notice most of the skoolies have big kitchen. Why they build two kitchen counterpart or countertop left and right?.. instead of dining table on the other side. You can chop your veggies or onions on the table also. For me two big kitchen both side is a waste of space. Still a nice skoolie. Sorry my english is bad is not my first language. I've been addicted watching bus conversion this past days.

Hey Adrian! We haven't actually gone through yet, still on the northern part of the route. We're not worried though. José's from Nicaragua and we've both traveled extensively throughout Central America/Mexico/many other parts of the world as well. Jose actually has already done the drive from Florida > Nicaragua > back to Florida in the past. Our biggest thing is to not be naive and to be preventative when it comes to safety. We have rules in place for that: no driving at night, always having a contact waiting for us in the next town, always chatting up the cops when they stop you (making sure they don't plant anything), etc.

I've watched and enjoyed a lot of these videos. But what always put me off, is how do you get insurance and how costly is it ? Are there specialist companies that offer custom policies? Because you'll need vehicle insurance but also home contents insurance too. I would imagine that contents insurance would be a lot more expensive than the usual home contents Insurance. Because they're not as secure as a normal home. And that could be a deal breaker for me, if the monthly premiums are going to be ridiculously high.

Hi! We have basic liability for the bus itself. We would love to have a full-coverage motorhome policy, but it's a bit outside of our budget unfortunately. All our gear is insured through an instrument and equipment policy that has always worked really well for us. Our hard drives are the real priceless item, and we have a safe and backup system for those. ❤️

Awesome. Will be following your journey. He mentioned the 3 agm batteries total 300 watts. Doesn’t that mean you only get 150 watts since agm’s can’t go lower than half. That’s not much. But the lithium’s are 100 each that’s 350 watts. Am inspired by your wanting you be of service. I think you should add a smaller fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

The deep cicle AGM batteries we have can actually be depleted down to 30% or 20% so that give us more or less 400ah. But we are thinking to upgrading to all lithium batteries. We have another fire extinguisher in the front of the bus. :)

I loved that they have Hot water all the time, I loved the backsplash colors of :teal, orange & white. The fun part was watching the barn door 🚪 glide- that’s an awesome accessory for the bus. It’s nice to have someone so knowledgeable of all the electronics, wires and solor panels otherwise you’ll make more mistakes and spend more $$$. All in all, the home on wheels is very cozy and beautiful 🪴🌵🌿

Although I can't speak on behalf of being on the road and doing what I have pursued.......the whole reason behind the approach and choosing to create the bus business that I have, is for the journey/the adventure. As I already know that everything won't go as planned, but I trust the guidance that I have been given and experienced thus far (except some of the fuckery I have experienced compliments of some folk). But for the most part your works really is gonna produce the adventure that you desite......, in a nutshell
