Thank you for the video. The design is cute and very simple to follow. Also, thank you to the professional jewelry makers who have added their input on the comment string, however please remember that this is a young lady doing DIY projects and not a professional. Please be kind in the way that you speak to others, if you read through what you have posted it comes off harsh. We can always build people up while still giving constructive feedback.
I didn't see anyone being unkind, unless those comments have been deleted. Just some more experienced jewelry makers giving some helpful tips, including myself.
Your designs are lovely and simple to do, and your explanation is very clear. However, you should never pry open or squash jump rings. You should gently twist them open and closed. Keep up the good work with the videos!
It worked great for her. No distortion of the circular shape. I never understood why that is such a hard and fast rule. As long as you're not opening and closing it repeatedly or squashing it out of shape, does it really matter?
thank you! I live in Florida and collect this all of the time, but my husband suggested making a necklace for our daughter's first piece. This was very informative.
Thank for the refresher. I took Rick's class about 6 months ago and I have enjoyed making these pendants. He also showed me how to do brackets. I had so much fun. Crystal Cove is awesome too!
Really nice job on this tutorial. I love the simplicity of it. It really makes it look more elegant. (Just one thing is that you might want to work on opening and closing your jumper ring in a different way. I believe the best way is to twist The jump ring in opposite directions, and close it the same way. That way the shape and integrity of the jump ring stays strong). Everything else is beautifully done. Thank you for your talents!
The way you opened the jump ring is wrong your meant to twist the two halves of the ring until it’s open just enough to allow you to attach your chosen components then close it the same way.
I'm a professional Jewellery Maker. And you have open the jump ring the WRONG way. you never open a jump ring with one pair of pliers. to open a jump ring you must use 2 pliers and open the jump ring like a door. If you open the jump ring with one pair of pliers you are putting a lot of stress on the jump ring and could lose it round shape and in time could snap apart.
