Good on ya mate. Really nice to see someone having a go at something new. I was nervous at the start thinking you might end up gluing yourself in that seat. Thanks mate for showing the process.

Well, I almost did glue myself to the seat.. I should have brought the bag up a little higher and the foam came out the top for a little bit.. other than that.. it actually worked! Dave

Nice job. Ive made a few home made plywood seats up for my rides. Probably cheaper to buy a second hand unit, but a bit of ingenuity goes a long way with left over aheets of ply, some old cusions and a seat cover...

I have not gone through 1/4 of the video and I already know its not going to end well lol.... *Edit* I'm pleasantly surprised at the outcome, wonder the durability of it. I would had butchered it lol. nice job.

Hi Dave, how is it holding up now we’re a month on? I’m about to do the same for a curvy F1 seat I’ve made.. Also, really appreciated showing the real-time reaction too. Really helpful.

thanks for the question.. i actually have not installed it yet.. i am still working on sewing up the cover for it.. but it's looking promising so far.. once that's done.. i'll be putting the seat on the rig. 🙂

I mean, yeah...not really a solution for everybody. The materials alone are about the same price as a budget friendly fiberglass bucket seat, but it's certainly going to be comfortable if it's done right. Would chose another cloth though. Something robust and breathable.

agreeed.. not for everyone.. but I figured I would give it a try.. the end result is pretty good. a bit messy before trimmings.. I'm making a custom seat cover for it in a couple weeks (not on a video) so that should allow it to last for a long time.. Thanks for watching and commenting.. dave

Great details. Knowing to suck it up and get the 4 quart double deal is piece of mind. Especially if buying 2 sets is less than buying two individual kits. Mattress travel bag was clever. Thank you for showing the real cook time. For fabric it doesn’t look like your plastic material has any stretch. I think you want faux suede like TurnRacing did for his diy sim wheel. That’s what I’m going to use coz it seems similar to the real f1 custom foam seats you can find drivers sitting for. See this real f1 seat being made…. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yjEgSEEEhuk.htmlsi=i-A4haFhGIqTOVLe

very cool.. I'm still working on the seat cover. I did get a lot of it made but still need some time to finish it up. The foam i use is very rigid, so I did put some automotive upholstery foam under the seat cover.. Thanks for sending the video. Dave
