Installed only the leach field and d box. This whole system is for 2 mobile homes. I have one 1000 gallon Infiltrator tank with 2 9x75 leach fields. This system requires a master d box. The master d box will distribute evenly to the 2 other d boxes running to the 2 leach fields. First step, leveling d box. Then running schedule 40 to chambers on level. Install leaching chambers and back fill! Don't forget to give a big thumbs up and mash the subscribe button!
I will be installing power meter and breaker panel on next video! See you all there!

When you drive over what happens if the chamber side push down into the soils couple inches will that throw off the pitch? Doesnt seem like pipe runs the length of the camber are they just to create a void underground and level doesn’t need to be perfect except for the first one.
@hurley001
@hurley001 3 года назад
The pipe goes into the chamber just a few inches. As long as the ground is within 1 inch of level from front to back. You will be fine. If the chamber does go into the soil just a few inches you can shim it up. Honestly I dont see iflt hirting anything. If the inspector is checking it. Do it right

Great job, Sir. I saw how ell this video started then got a quick look at your piers, and thought to myself, "Wow, those look great. I'll bet he installed them too." It looks like you have decent soil for drainage. Regarding driving over the chambers, you shouldn't have a problem if everything Is dry with your soil type. Although they're designed to replace having to use gravel, a 2-4" covering with unwashed limestone gravel settles in and helps distribute the weight off the soil above it, aids drainage and lets the clay above shift and give untill it settles in really well, minimizing any problems driving over it. Great job.

Its funny how different jurisdictions have different codes. Around here they won't let you put the infiltrators closer than 10 feet apart. They also warn you to avoid driving the machine in the trench or over the infiltrators. They don't actually say they will fail you if they see tire marks in the trench but I suspect they would take a dim view on it.

It's different everywhere I have done a test and had a gopro inside a chamber and ran over it with a tractor

Good content, but the camera was jerking and rolling all over the place. Aside from that, thank you for showing us how this is done. Did you have to get the soil 'perc-tested' to make sure absorption was acceptable?
@hurley001

Yes I had to get a perc test by the health department. This soil is clay, so I was required to make a larger bed for absorption

@@hurley001 Perk tests are a joke. Typically the problem with drain fields is water retention in a given area after a long rain. If you have a field under an area that water runs off of it can have the same results from a perk test as the spot that the water gathers in. Clay is a problem...PERIOD.

What is the point of the chambers? I see people using just the perforated pipes and others using chambers. Is there an advantage to one over the other? What is the cost difference?
@hurley001
@hurley001 3 года назад
Depending on the cost of rock and pipe, it can be cheaper to go with a gravel bed. The pros to a chamber system, you will have more volume of water to go into your bed vs a rock system. The installation process is easier in my opinion for the chambers.

They used black corrugated pipe coming out the tank which was no match for tree roots. Guessing the same pipe is in the leach field. I assume the field is full of roots, but i haven't dug it up. I believe i found the Dbox just a few feet from the tank and it had a thick black rubber top which crumbled. it looked like tire rubber it was that thick. i expected to find a cement dbox like the tank.

@joshuabradshaw3050 in a perfect scenario. Everytime effluent enters the distribution box. It will send flow evenly into each set of chambers. If the ground is level. Under the chambers. The effluent will spread out across the soil evenly and percolate into the ground. The chambers are basically a holding tank for the effluent until the soil is ready to accept it

Do you rent these mobile homes out? I just put in a third mobile home to rent but ran into an issue with the old septic we had. Was thinking of doing it myself but the concrete septic tanks are pushing 10,000lbs and unfortunately we have people waiting on it. I plan to have 6 mobile homes at this location and was wondering if I should just go with one large conventional system. We have 5 acres with 3 systems already but the old third one failed.

With a drain field using only two lines of perforated pipe, should one of the pipes be in direct line with the septic tank outlet pipe? Or, can they be staggered on either side of the outlet pipe?
@hurley001

They dont have to be in a direct line be sure to use a distribution box and you can run one field in any direction that is within you code and the same with the other field

Why did you use 2 d boxes and would 3 30 foot lines work for one mobile home
@hurley001
@hurley001 3 года назад
I used 3 d boxes. First d box off the tank equally distributed to the 1st and 2nd leach field. Each leach field has it's own d box to evenly distribute to the row of chambers. My 3 lines of 75 feet were because of the soil percolation test. I have clay soil. Therefore needed more coverage for water to percolate. Your solid may be better and can use less of field

I dont know how close to a cactus. But we have to be 10 feet or more from a waterline. Gravel wont be a benefit. The chambers are meant to fill with effluent, then percolate into the ground.. the old gravel system had to have gravel to create a void in the ground for the water to rest and percolate.
