The Bubble Dress is your next garden party go-to! With an optional tulle layer for that extra bit of pizazz you know you need, this mini number will have everyone asking “Where did you get that dress?” This pattern has a full lining to create the bubble hem and a super flattering rounded, scooped neckline. There is optional interfacing for the bodice pieces if you are working with a lightweight fabric. If you are an intermediate sewist, this pattern is for you as it does require the installation of an invisible zipper. This is a digital PDF pattern is made up of 20 instruction pages that can be downloaded immediately after purchase. The pattern can be printed on either A4 or US Letter paper. Instruction on printing are contained inside. Print at 100% scaling. This pattern has a scale test to ensure you have printed your pattern correctly. No physical item will be sent. This pattern is written in English and contains measurements in both metric (centimetres) and imperial (inches).

DIFFICULTY
Intermediate
This pattern requires careful sewing to create gathers and to insert an invisible zipper. If you have a basic sewing experience this pattern will be achievable for you. Always remember to take your time and make a mock up in a cheaper fabric before you begin on the final project. This will allow you to make any alterations before you begin ensuring perfect fit.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
- 250CM (2.75 YARDS) MAIN FABRIC 120CM (1.3YARDS) WIDE.
Woven, low/non stretch fabrics are suitable for this style. Select a medium weight fabric to increase the amount of support in the bodice.
- 100CM (1.1 YARDS) LINING FABRIC 120CM (1.3YARDS) WIDE.
Choose a fabric similar in weight and quality to your main fabric. It is best to get a colour match as close as possible.
- 50CM (0.55 YARDS FUSING) LIGHT-MID WEIGHT FUSIBLE INTERLINING. If you have chosen a lightweight fabric that requires a little more structure and stability, fusing is recommended for the bodice pieces. This will make your garment easier to sew.
- TULLE (OPTIONAL) 0.8M (0.9YARDS) LIGHTWEIGHT TULLE APPROX 18CM (2 YARDS) WIDTH. OPTIONAL.
OTHER TOOLS REQUIRED
- Invisible Zipper 40cm (16") minimum length, closely matching in colour
- Hand sewing needle
- Matching sewing thread
- Scissors
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Overlocker/Serger (optional if your sewing machine has zig zag capabilities)
- Printer and A4 paper/US Letter paper to print your pattern
