Karrie, keep in mind the backsplash stone you liked absorbs stains and light. A shinier tile is easier to clean and reflects light in your kitchen.

I have that stone as my kitchen backsplash, just a word to the wise, it is porous and it takes elbow grease to get any cooking grease out of it. I recommend getting a good bristle brush and keeping a big bucket of oxyclean on hand. lol. But it is beautiful. We also did our fireplace in the same stone to pull the open space together and you should be ok if yours isn't a wood burning fireplace and you decided to go that route.

You commenting on the tape prices made me happy that there are ppl like you that recognize the price of construction supplies and/or equipment has gone up so much. My husband is an HVAC contractor and it irritates me when ppl expect him to discount his work or complain about prices when the simplest thing like tape has gone up- meaning my husband and other contractors have to raise their prices to keep up with inflation. Just some food for thought for anyone reading this the next time you need a tradesman like a HVAC contractor, electrician, or plumber to come to your house.

Those French and sliding doors are notorious for doing that inside the glass. Has something to do with the glass being double glazed and also if the weather stripping has worn out you will see a moisture or milky look, sometimes if you replace the weather stripping it will dissipate on its own. Very annoying. Can’t wait to see your she shed completed 🫶🏻

You are a great wife and mother. Good job.👏My favorite cleaning product that I have used for years and always come back to when I have tried other cleaners is a cap full of Murphy oil in a bucket of hot water. Love it for my tile floors the most.

Karrie, Harbor Freight has fireproof aluminum tape for $6.99/50 sq ft! I bought it a couple times and it’s works great. Also, you might want to consider some type of exhaust fan on the peak of the wall to remove the heat at the top of the building.

Karrie you can spray just about anything on a wasp 🐝 nest! Your dawn foaming power wash works as well as windex! I have used both and works ! Something big like a hornets nest you want to do after dark when the nest isn’t active. I would get Tfs spray can stuff to keep at home and at the cabin. Also, there is a stinging/biting kit I got at tractor supply years ago and every time I get stung or bitten etc. I use it right away and it actually sucks the venom out so it doesn’t hurt! You wouldn’t even know it happened! Oh it’s for snakes 🐍 too! They might sell it on Amazon. Great thing to have in your emergency kit. I am quite allergic and swell up bad and it hurts for weeks if I don’t use it! I love these types of videos with a little bit of everything! Countertop looks beautiful and so do you in red with your dark hair! If’s your color for sure!

Here’s a tip we learned about concrete and pressure washing. Spray it with liquid chlorine and water and your algae will be under control. We use 1/3 chlorine to 2/3rds water. We had this same troubled area around our pool. Trust me you’ll thank me later! 😊. And that wallpaper is perfect for that bathroom! Go for it! The seal is broke on your glass door. Not much you can do about it. You are right, you’ll need a new door. Didn’t you say you wanted to replace it with a single door and redo your kitchen layout? That time maybe closer than you think! 😊. That kitchen island just amazes me every time I see it! Love it so much! Dawn is spot on…along with the Powerwash. I use both on EVERYTHING!

Karrie, I use Dawn mixed with water in a huskavarna pump sprayer to take down my wasps. They will fall to the ground, and die after a few minutes. I don't like chemicals.

I recommend that when you frame it up, you make it sturdy enough to hang a ceiling fan to help circulate the air when you need to.

Hi Carrie! The moisture in between the pane of glass on your door means that the seal is broken. you can’t get rid of it. You’re probably should replace the door, but it’s not an emergency.😊

we had the same smell problem in our home not long ago. Hubby replaced the bathroom sink and tub traps. There was so much gunk built up in them. Especially tub...shampoo/hair/conditioners etc. Now we use Sani Sticks Drain Cleaner and Deodorizer, Enzyme Pipe Cleaners they we get on amazon. Our bathrooms always smell good. Once they are cleaned out or replaced, you wont have problems

You know what, i really liked your diy island countertop!! What if, just a positive suggestion 🤔 you also do your sink countertop the same as your island because it will become prettier and brighter around your kitchen. And purchase that back splash...it will become awesome 😊😊☺️

DAWN & MAGIC ERASERS are my go to cleaners. Dawn is great on laundry for spots that won’t come out.

We have had the same issue in the past with the sewage smell. We thankfully only had to turn the water on in all the bathrooms and let it run for a little bit to flush out the water. Idk but it worked lol love watching your videos! You inspire me to get my stuff done.

The new room is looking good. Excited to see your next part/ framing. I love to pressure wash. I use to have a gas one when we lived in Florida & it could cut you if you weren’t careful. I now have a little electric one,& it’s ok but just not that great pressure like I had before. I know you like that stone for your backsplash, but I would really think about how porous it is and how hard it would be to clean. Smooth surface is the easiest to keep clean. Yes!!!! I agree about back splash. A different one would be easier to clean than the one you picked.

The seal on your door window is broken, that’s why that film is in between the glass, it’s a gas that in between the glass. No fixing that, my windows were like that when I moved into my house. And that backsplash you like, they sell it at floor and record, my parents have it but you have to do a sealant on it before you put it up. It looks so good.

the good thing about being up on that ladder in the heat is just HOW much you will need a couple of ceiling fans, that way they can move the air around to help with heating and cooling....the building looks big enough for 2, and I wouldn't care if they were "even" with any future furniture arrangement!! I see sooo many designers try to do away with ceiling fans, well here in the south it is necessary if you want to be able to pay your light bill!!! If you are a good designer, then ceiling fans are a challenge they should be able to incorporate in any design instead of just saying they are ugly and get rid of them....

I love the new finish on the island...very nice! My cleaning "go to" is bleach! It can't be a generic brand...it must be Clorox! 😉 I use it in my dish water, clothes, cleaning, etc.

Please check you tank in the toilet. My toilet smells if if water is not going into that drain!! Its very old...I need a new toilet...but for now I run water down that drain, the pipe.. in the tank. Hopefully you can check that. Love you
