DIY SIEMENS MS42 TO MS43 EASY CONVERSION SWAP BY RACEMODE 

If anybody is interested in doing this conversion, I can not recommend it highly enough! First, the RaceMode guys are fantastic. I'm an American in the UK and they took a lot of time to help me get it right. My M52TUB28 is a standalone swap into an extremely custom LR Defender roadster. I had already swapped out the intake manifold for the M54b30 and adapted the MS42 to it. Was that a good mod? Yes! It increased the mid-range significantly as felt by my SOTP dyno (seat of the pants!). I saw this video and decided to give it a go if it wasn't too expensive. I ordered the cable and ECU from RaceMode and it was delivered quickly. Reading the fine detail before installing it I discovered that you will need to run the M54b30 MAF sensor as well. So I ordered one and the 90mm intake hoses as well. Once they arrived I got busy and swapped it all in. Using the correct M54B30 throttle body on the manifold is a much more elegant and cleaner install. I ditched the Land Rover Defender cable pedal and installed the fly-by-wire throttle pedal. I hooked it all up and the engine fired right up, and idled beautifully. But no real throttle response...hmmm. I sent a message and they responded as fast as they could. The first issue is that my car harness came from an automatic gearbox car. Piotr spent half a day walking through it with me online and we discovered that I just needed to remove the offending wires in the X6004 connector and install the pedal wires. We also discovered that I might have something that resembles old age kicking in ;-) I accidentally got three of the pedal wires off by one pin. No wonder it didn't work quite right!! Once I spotted my error and changed it, the difference is AMAZING! Is it worth it? Oh, dear god, yes!! The fly-by-wire pedal is MUCH nicer to drive than my old cobbled up LR>BMW cable assembly. The throttle response and power is instant and smashing! MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thanks to Piotr and crew at RaceMode. Cheers, y'all!

final boot up of engine .. very very happy engine .. warmed up was a bit tappy at first .. but leaned out to less then 1000 rpms then went lower and lower till about 800 ... tapping went away .. ticking started .. probably vanos *unknown engine* .. also checked that FBW pedal was actually working and it does so good :D

Just sent an email requesting the kit. My project is to swap a 2006 E46 330Ci M54B30 ZHP engine into my 2000 E46 323 M52TÜB25 touring. I already have the donor engine with MS45.1 DME, 6-speed transmission, gauge cluster, and electronic gas pedal. I also have an extra spare MS43 from a separate 330 engine (non-ZHP). Which DME do I use? The MS45.1 or MS43? Thank you for the awesome video.

also if any ones curious what the extra wires are actually for ... They are the signals for Battery Charge, Startup Signal (if any one knows what this actually does?) .. Oil Level Sensor, Oil Pressure switch *kind of important* , and Service reset indicator .. they are redundant circuits on between the cluster and the DME on the M52 body when swapped..

hey just a update ... after going to finalize the setup was being driven crazy by X6011 and the little black connector block *allot of confusion out there on that*.. after clawing through tons of images for hours in swap threads... I found the what I needed... so in short if your swapping 2001 to 1999 you will need to make a pig tail for the black 8 pin connector as its the starter motor power source and the green black is the Ign switch. other then that completely plug and play.. the remaining wires left over in the black connector are signals for the cluster no biggie to sort them out later

Wydaje mi sie że macie błąd na filmie. Pin 13 w x6003 (inputSignal Battery Charge Indicator Lamp ) chcecie wpinać do pinu 1 w x6004 (output Signal Engine Start Feedback ) gdzie jego odpowiednikiem jest właśnie pin 2 w x6004 (output Signal Engine Start Feedback).Ten sam mix z pinem 12 z x6003.

is it also possible to upgrade my ms41 on my m52 to an ms42/ms43 ?

I already have ms43 325i all I need is the tune? Preferably with zhp cam's and b30 intake

thanks to racemode i can confirm you can complete this mod on a 325 from a 330 ci.. i already removed all wiring harness and yeah its kl if your doing a full swap 330 pedal/tb/intake/fuel filter to a m52 from a m54 you just need the accelerator signal and ews delete or carry the ews over with locks transponders etc .. to get up and running. top work guys very helpful
