The bricks Like a little Wall as the foundation, the stones into it and then much concrete between and on top of those Things! Me and my Friends Just found a old House, perfekt concrete foundation! Most mortar mix is too much sand to cement ratio. I always mix in plain Portland cement to quickcrete mortar mix. Takes longer to dry, but it’s super pro quality.

Dill Humpston Little bondo on the bottom & your good, also the liquid concrete is good for bonding the old w/ new. You’re right that it’s a potential issue.
