The bathroom came out so nice, Shannon! I loved that you painted the claws on the tub, but I wish you had painted the back legs on it, though. I know you don't see the back legs, but I just think it would have given it a finished look because I love how the gold claws look on the tub!!!
This is such a beautiful bathroom now! I love everything you did to update it with class. The tub is gorgeous and how cool that you talked to the lady who lived there and raised her children in your house...priceless!🛀
Overall a very lovely job. Back in the dark ages, I was a certified kitchen designer and bath designer and a space planner. We lived in New England for 3 years (in MA, CT and RI, born in, raised in and came back to TX) and I am extremely familiar with OLD (200+ yrs) houses. They are a challenge. My husband and I physically built our (ridiculously large) retirement home (which is actually 2 houses in one & inspired from our time in New England) when we were 65. It was no easy feat. So, when I say, 'a very lovely job', I also understand what it actually took for you and your husband to have accomplished it. I'm glad you made a concerted effort to keep the tub. I've been gathering very damaged antiques for years and restore, refinish and repurpose them along with the bazillion recycled treasures in the barn still on my project list. I've used many ideas from your channel and others for inspiration. Thanks for the great ideas!
I appreciate your message so much! Sounds like you have had a fulfilling life with many accomplishments, so it means a lot that you would take the time to watch and comment. Each project that we check off our list gives us more experience and memories too. Enjoy the process of working on your projects. 🩷
Loved your bathroom. Hubby has been a bathroom/kitchen remodeler since 1998. His advice is, measure the wall, tile, and grout line space. Work it out so that, if you are going to end up with less than one tile at the top of the wall, make sure it's at the bottom so the tiny tile does not draw the eye up to the top. You can always hide the small tile at the bottom, but not at the top. On the other hand, your bathroom remodel is awesome.
WOW!!! Wait, did I say WOWWWWWWWW! What an amazing transformation!!! You and Brian did a fantastic job, and I love that you kept some of the older elements to the space. I do want to chime in on the placement of the toilet paper holder, I think if it were my bathroom, I would be cursing everytime I used it. Having it point the other direction or even straight up would make it easier to use. JMHO Th. anks for sharing your lovely space with us and keep on with the reno's
That was a topic of conversation 😆 I even looked up proper measurements for placement. Going by that we couldn’t turn it the other way or we couldn’t get rolls on it being so close to the vanity. I hadn’t thought to do it vertically though! Great idea!
🛁Shannon, you and your husband do beautiful work! Every project you guys do come out so gorgeous! The bathroom looks so beautiful and you definitely have an eye for decor. Great job!
Beautiful bathroom! I love the way it turned out. Our first house was built in 1901. We redid the bathroom and the kitchen. What a huge job that was. But I was determined we kept the clawed bathtub too. It took us months to get it all done. Then we didn't get to enjoy it much since we were transferred back to AZ. But it turned out amazing! Thanks for taking us on your journey. ❤
@TheDailyDIYer I hoped so too. But since we left the state, we had no idea if they did or not. We looked it up, and the house is still there. They did make the 3 season porch into another room.
Beautiful job. I agree with keeping to the original as much as possible in older homes but still giving it a fresh updated look. You did fantastic in melding the two era's.
Looks awesome! I totally understand the hiccups of renovation! We did our master bath a couple of years ago. I'm glad you kept the old tub🛀! It's beautiful! Our very first apartment had one, and I have loved them ever since! Nice work, you two!!👍😁

🌞🛁 Y'all did a beautiful job. The home my youngest lives in was built by his great granddaddy. 4 generations have lived in this home that has been going strong since 1913.
Awe!!❤ I Love the bathtub story!! The house in St. Louis city where I raised my 3 kiddos had one as well. Now I want to stop by and see if it's still in that over a 100 yr old home! 😂😅❤ I Love watching you and your home is Beautiful!!! Great job!! 😊
Love the floor tiles ! I must say when I saw the bath tub I thougt why not instal a shower ? But in the end it is such a beautiful statement piece who brings the whole look together !
What a great team you and Brian made!!! The mew bathroom was well planned and will serve your family well!! ( not sure how to get to my omojis....but make believe I do!!!???)..TYFS this project!!!❤😊
🛀 Hi Shannon, Great bathroom renovation! My grandmother's home in North NJ in the house where my Mom grew up had a clawfoot tub and us 3 kids loved baths everyone we were at her and Poppop's house. I have t thought about it for years but wonder if they still have it too.. I might write to the family. The house was 75 years old when I was 16. My Dad's house was built in 1929 and when his wife lived there with her first husband and very young children they only had a regular tub in the main bathroom which was converted into a shower by my Dad and her. Shannon, It's Monday, 5/21 and just last night I purchased dried greens and flowers that come with tweezers from Lianep from Beauty On A Purpose thru her Amazon store after watching her RU-vid video on how she used them. The day before I was googling on how to make stationary using dried flowers as my aunt literally will not let me know her secret on what type of clear adhesive she uses. I ask on the phone, I ask in Emails. She never responds and you think she would be thrilled if I use her technique. I give up! So 2 nights ago I did lots of googling, never found anything close so thought I would just try something else. But, also living in an apartment I haven't my own flowers to pick . Last night Lianep had a video that was seconds old about diff decor she was making for Memorial Day and summer in general and one craft was with flowers. My Mom's favorite flower was the Black Eyed Susan and her name was/is Suzanne. Some of the flowers are Black Eyed Susans and I am thrilled.. I never knew how you buy they someone's Amazon store so that was a first time.. I am very interested in your frames as if you can use a little tack nail I can use that here where I live. It's a historic registered apartment and nails and molly bolts are not allowed. I am happy I rec'd this video on my email. I need to get ready for work. I wish I could retire. I cannot wait until I can craft every day, attend a woman's Bible study, have lunch with my Dad during the day, go to the new cafe down the street for a coffee. I drive 40 min for work, I am the only female in my dept. Toxic atmosphere and yet God has me still there for a reason. I will be there 20 years same dept on June 5th.. I have tried to correct typos as best as I can. My phone is going bad and I am trying to baby it until I can get one for my vac with my Dad in August. Have a super day. I hope your feeling better. Stay hydrated too. I like adult Pedialyte it's better than Gaterraid for me since I was in hosp in 2019 with gastric problems. My dept doesn't have heat and doesn't have AC and I perspire so bad in the hot months. Blessings, Rebekah
