Please don’t feel like you have to wait until a project is complete to show us! I’d love to see the process from start to finish over the course of however long it takes because that’s REAL. The reality is, this stuff takes a long time. Love you content and congrats again!!
Your new living room space is awesome!! Getting rid of that terrible wall color was a major part of the transformation! The floors look wonderful! And that fireplace😍! You've done a beautiful job!!
I think the bamboo blinds were a great call. Even if the windows were new, I'm not sure there'd be anything wrong with that layering. The room looks beautiful and warm!
Hello Sam I think you did a great job with the living room and I love your attitude. We all have our budgets we can all do what our budgets allow us to do and especially the way things are so expensive right now even if you are making your own stuff you still have to pay for the supplies they are not in abundance and then what little there is, is expensive I totally get it and I so appreciate your honesty it's so refreshing to see and hear the honesty it is what it is and we're all there some people just like to pretend that they have an endless amount of money.
@@diyhuntress Because if one of my favs - DIY Dani - love her - I found you!! Another genius & creative femme fatale! Is it possible you switch sides the chaise is on? Even just for the winter as it is too close to the radiator, it could get so hot that it could catch fire, melt or ruin the leather. That cover turned out gorgeous! In its self is a piece of art! Regarding shoe storage, is there room under the couch to put pull out "drawers", so you can eventually lose the wall shoe/console? Although that looks great, yet! I agree a bit too tall as it covers that fabulous wall graphic. Instead, find - or build - a narrow sofa console that goes along the back of the sofa - which is so dreamy!! 🥰 The coffee table! WOW! The rug - gorgeous! Fireplace - KA-POW!!! The entire room is stunning! While you are not 100% happy with this, you still did a magnificent job! PS:. Do not be concerned with what other say/criticize; it's what you do or need to do. No need to apologize. Enjoy your day/weekend!!
It turned out so good! One thing that jumped out at me as I watched is this: when your shop is done, it would be fun to see you build a sofa console table that doubles as shoe storage. Then you could completely expose the wood accent wall while still having shoe storage.
It looks amazing! I Always feel a space is 90% completed - since style is ever changing, a room evolves with you 😊 As a fellow DIYer I know that feeling. Thank you for another awesome video ❤
Sam. You killed this. I know not every detail is exactly what you want, but the way you’ve transformed this space is spectacular and so YOU. So cool to have a little Danie in there too 🙂
Hi Sam, looks lovely. Just a quick thought for when your winter comes around again. The heat from the radiator will damage your yummy sofa so maybe think about pulling the living room set up so that the edge of your sofa lines with the edge of our fireplace pulling it away form the radiator. Hope this made sense. It looks really wonderful. Love the floors. Congratulations 👏
Beautiful. Stop hating on your design ability. That room came together beautifully. Try putting a simple valance over those windows. It would bring the eye up and distract from the busy ness of the blinds. Great job as usual.🤎
You did a great job on this room. As you said the room needs to evolve and that takes time. You have a lot on your plate , take time to enjoy life, especially your upcoming marriage.
Thank you! I love it so much. But, I have a vision of a table for this space that I cannot waitttt to make come to life. Been hoarding the perfect slab for it too! 😍
The living room turned out fantastic I like the shoe storage great idea and the table you made looks beautiful in the space it’s giving depth with all the color and honestly black is thought you did a great job balancing all the textures and colors
You did such an awesome job in your space 🥰 Your “work in progress” is someone else’s dream come true; keep that in mind while you work towards having everything buttoned up the way you like it 💜 I love seeing these videos about your progress on the house and I’m looking forward to the next ones.
It is amazing how such a small house can be so much work...but you are moving forward by leaps and bounds! and doing a beautiful job on it. You should be very proud of yourself. 💜
GIRL I have the exact same windows as you. You can pull on the little metal tabs that go around the pane of glass and that first window pane will pop out... those inner blinds are removable
It came out so cozy :) I love the bamboo shades over the blinds :) It takes time to get your place where you want it to be. I've been working on my tiny cottage for almost 8 years, a couple of big projects each year :) I'll be done with the cottage itself this year, feels so good and it's now what I wanted it to be :) Next year starts the outdoor projects, that will take two years :) You're moving right along and your place looks great :)
Linen White color paint would have complimented the brown trims more. Maybe a softer white by the windows would look a little better. Otherwise, lovely tour.
You are coming along on your house reno- the living room looks great. Definitely a good point about how spaces aren't perfect immediately- it'll change and become more "you" as you live in it and make changes. I think a round coffee table would look great with your sofa. Your hard work is definitely paying off.
Thank you! So glad that came across! So grateful for this space and how far it’s come, but also want to recognize that it’s okay if things aren’t perfect right away. 💓
I love your videos and your style. It’s so inspirational to see someone doing up their home while holding down a full time job. I do find your volume very low compared to other channels - I get blasted by the ads when I bump the volume to hear you. Not sure if other viewers have similar issues, but I thought I would mention it!
Sam, dudette! You did amazing! The living room looks so cozy🥰. Look, I’ve lived in my apartment for 10 years and I still change things around as my needs change. Also, furniture and decor is expensive! So why not use what you have until you can source/make/afford something else? Also: At least now you never run out of birthday/occasion present suggestions 😜
Thank youuuu! And, yes to all of it! I’m actually excited to live in a space for long enough to be able to refresh it. We moved so much before this house!
It looks awesome. There’s probably a way to raise those built-in shades as it would be weird if you didn’t have the option of being able to see out the windows. If you can raise them then they can stay accordioned at the top of the windows and hidden behind those beautiful bamboo shades and it would be like they’re not there.
I like how you ended up doing the windows. It really suits the room and a good alternative until you can change the windows. Beautiful job on the living room.
Sam, quick question. First, your projects, as always are amazing. I was wondering if you could share your recommendations on a HEPA vac. I'm really sick of shop vacs 'dust' collection. I know it's pricy but what do you use and how do you like it! Thanks...
Hi Sam. I found your channel thru your video with DIY Dani. You two were so cute and funny. I watched your final deck makeover video but I have tons of your videos I want to watch to see your journey. Liv room looks so nice and comfy. Love the couch.
Working with what you already have is smart on so many levels. Imagine making your dream coffee table, putting it into place, and then realizing it should have been three inches smaller when you stub your toe every time you walk past it.
Saw the title, saw the length and instantly grabbed a drink and some snacks 😂 watching each video like a movie 😍 Absolutely beautiful transformation 😍💯 and you did it all by yourself 😳 You are my inspiration Guru Ji ❤🙏🏻 Some Videos on youtube you just watch and forget, but yours I live thoroughly, absolutely feeling the love and efforts you put into each, and equally excited about the future projects and the biggest project you getting married, haha feels like I am part of it and invited 😂, ouff words are less you are wonderful ❤💯🙏🏻
Stunning!! Gorgeous!! Either side of your fireplace could be custom built shoe cupboards. Then make a skinny table for where your lush lamp lives. Maybe... Roller blinds look so much better than them blinds. 😍
It looks so good!! That couch looks so great and the blinds were a great call. If I could recommend something, I think painting the window frames black would actually help them blend in more! The hardware and seals stick out now against the white than they would again Black 😄
Those windows would look great in a dark color, charcoal or slate grey and tie in with the entry and the rest of the décor color palette. Might help make the window dressing easier too.
Hey Sam you did such a great job on the living room, as usual. The only comment I have is to move the couch closer to the kitchen so when you walk in from the front door you have space to walk directly in the room, not to have to walk around that awesome couch. That's just me. Can't wait to see the kitchen you motivate me to do more diys. Wishing you all the best on your upcoming wedding.
You did such a great job on this! I love watching your videos. By the way, where did you buy the shoe storage? I'm currently shopping around for modern shoe storage.
Just found your channel! What an awesome living room makeover. And what a bonus seeing DIY Danie I love her makeovers too! Look forward to seeing more of your makeovers.
TV’s mounted above a fireplace make for a horrible viewing angle - especially with the sofa so close. Other than that the final result looks amazing - especially the slat wall.
Did you remove the header in the doorway going upstairs or just remove the door itself? I know you said there was a header you had to leave in, but I didn’t understand where you said it was. My house is very similar to yours and the header is possibly low enough to hit a person 5’ 10” or more in the forehead when they’re coming down the stairs, especially if they run down the stairs.
Re-watching this video and wishing you were my contractor and designer. I love this living room. You are definitely a talented decorator As well as builder
I watched your video on your grandparents stereo. It looked amazing I've inherited my grandparents Motorola console record player and want to redo it. How's yours doing? Also I heard you mention Bluetooth in that video I had someone tell me that you can plug a Bluetooth receiver into the tape input on the back of these old stereos and switch the knob over to tape and you can Bluetooth music through the stereo and turns out he was right I bought a Bluetooth receiver and plugged it into the tape input into the back of my grandparents stereo and I can literally Bluetooth music through the stereo it sounds awesome too..
