I have to commend your efforts Dr Omodei, I know that some people will/may find some small flaws in your system but it's certainly plausible that you've put your intelligence to work at the service of small-land owners's irrigation.
Hi Bernie, greetings! Thanks for sharing the video on this great innovation. I see the automation bit saving time for the farmers to allow them time and energy to do other productive work in the same fields or elsewhere. The saving on scarce water resources is great. I think it is worth doing a demonstration or two with our farmers in Lower Eastern Kenya and have them share their stories. Given the technicality involved in connecting the wires correct, in my area, it will be worth sharing the video with local electricians who will then install the system for local farmers at a nominal fee.
What an appropriate technology for small farmers, with limited resources but burden of feeding the majority of population. would like to see that it is introduced in Ethiopia with over 16 million horticultural crops producer smallholders. look forward!
Thanks Bernie, simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, our moto and you are demonstrating yet again that with a simple install, on which there are a number of variations, water savings can be achieved. Measured irrigation control vs programmed is such a powerful tool anywhere from Kenya to the Lockyer Valley. Our "best irrigation practise" always had design, material selection, install, control, fertigation and maintenance as the key words. Suggest to change the "control" keyword to "measured irrigation control". well done! www.ezflo.com.au
