I found a ghost twice. At 6:00 and at 19:36 but I'll keep looking! Those were pretty quick shots! That was so fun. It's like looking for that pesky T-Rex all over again! So fun!!! Of course there was Mr. Ghosty standing in front of the gate at the beginning. So three times in all. I thought there was ghost behind you on a pole until I figured out it was a Yucca plant. Tricky! I saw Mr. Ghosty again at 17:49 off over Jonathan's shoulder! So that is 4 times! At 19:51 I see a figure right above Ada's hand on the post with a white something on it's head but it looks like the rest of Jett standing there? I hope I saw them all? You guys are so fun!!

I'm so so happy for you all. Who knew, that having to get out and open or close a gate every single time, was such a pain? Yippee, an automatic gate. Now, rain or shine or dust storm, you can easily get out, no pun intended, of your property in the safety of your vehicle. Im jumping for joy here in Central IL, you just can't see me doing it. 👍😁🥰👻
Do you get some kind of code or notification when the battery run down in the keypads? If not, just put an annual recurring reminder on your calendar. I do that for the batteries in my flashlights. You'll have to let us know if it works smoothly in high winds. Is there some kind of emergency disable if a car breaks down in the gateway? What a great sponsor! I love it when you get to add a little luxury to the Homestead.
The smart connection piece is something we may do later as a separate video (need wifi all the way down at the gate first which is it's own hurdle). It seems to be handling the winds just fine - they actually recommended that we could add a stopper when it's open to help if it's blowing it too much. Since we don't keep it open we're not super worried about it right now, though. Yes it's easy to pull the pins and override the system in an emergency.

From the look of the mud under the gate creating an area where the dogs could easily get out under the gate. A new item for your bucket list would be a concrete threshold which would be about 25 feet on both sides of the gate. But for the short term a 5 foot one 2.5 feet on each side. 🤣

You can double gate it. So when go out or in you always have a shut gate. No animals can get out that way. You go thru one it locks behind you then you open second gate. When you enter your property same thing in reverse. That your animals are safe. Really worth it. ❤

Looks like a great gate opener. I need one at the end of driveway because I live in the country and gates always make your property much more safe and secure from anyone not wanted on your property. I wonder if it works in a snowy environment

GURRR I also got tired of manually doing the gate and I bought I major competitors the mighty mule for my gate opener, as I did not know about ghost openers and I will be honest yours has more adjustability in the programming than mine bummer but it works
This is nice but how about: - a safety sensor to prevent the gate closing while the beam is tripped such as by a vehicle still slowly going through the gate. - an automatic sensor inside your property to trigger the ‘open’ as a vehicle drives past, so it’s open by the time the vehicle gets to the gate - an automatic transmitter in your car so the gate opens automatically when you get home.

Hey guys, I am so Happy for you all. I know how much a hassle it was tocomer up to a gate and have to jump out and open it and wait then close it, especially in the bad weather.
Not that you will ever have a vacation but the people caring for the goats would still need to get in. And maybe the fire dept /police would need an emergency code. Vacation mode sounds impractical

Fire ants can be controlled with DEET. Spray it on your shoes or boots. It does have to be resprayed daily. To keep them from climbing poles, spray the base of poles heavily.

@TinyShinyHome Glad to hear. The wilderness park I used to manage had a similar gate system. Ours would stop and reverse the gate for a certain amount of time then try again. Second hit would cause it to back off and stop. We'd have to reset it which was a pain because it was 2 mile from our welcome center
