Because of solar cell going into the control module and having multiple outputs, that means that the control module will bypass the battery pack and directly charge the phone if the phone is plugged in right?
Thank you so much for the video, I liked and subscribed. IMPORTANT question: did u use a 6V, 9V or 12V solar charger controller? I am trying to make this work with another controller, the XY-CD60L, but it is not working on just one Li-Ion battery (4.2V)... could you give me some advice?
Hi! I've never used the controller you have, but I see online the description says ".Output terminal connect 1pcs DC 6V-60V battery." So your single battery seems to be unsuitable. Maybe you can get a battery pack or use a different battery type? The controller I have is a 6V controller, but that is for the voltage of the solar panel, not the battery connected.
@@LeftyMaker Hi!! thank you so much for answering... I manage to make it work. It is the same as yours, 6V minimal for the Solarpanel. Apparently it is working right now, its just a little tricky to configure. I am also designing a nice box for it with Fusion 360 using this model: EZVALO Smart Alarm Clock, If you want I can share with you. just le me know.
i know this i sold now however i wanna take on a similar project minus the electrical experience to do so lol i just have soldering abilites, my idea is to have a panel that has a usb a output so i can charge mainly an external battery, possibly other devices if i can add fast charge, what would you suggest i need/look into? trying to find a panel around the size of a phone with the high output, i think i can probably use some of the components shown here for the usb and power output. just unsure where to start. thanks for your time!
Check out the switching voltage regulators available , some have high efficiency, and can output a greater current if it is a step-down module. To charge a lithium battery properly, another module can then be used
Without a battery pack, a 6v or 7v maximum voltage solar panel or two in parallel might give a high current, but the phone USB port takes about 5v to charge it , maybe 5.25v max. The 6v from the solar panel can be reduced using a silicon power diode with a 0.7v drop, hence giving the phone about 5.3v. It might work and is a simple design. To get the voltage to be low enough for the phone , a small value of resistance (0.1? to maybe 3 ohms?) might be necessary in series with the diode. A system test would have to be made, and-or otherwise a voltage regulator could be used, but they need a few volts extra at their input.
Another option I recently found is called something like a switching converter, basically a type if ocsillator/transformer system, and has about 90% efficiency or more and can effectively make a larger output current than the input current. This can speedup charging a 12v rated lithium battery , and I'd a charging control circuit is also used for safety of the battery.
